That second picture is horrifying, may the Demerol flow!

A coworker told me her husband had a kidney stone that was half the size of a golf ball that had to be surgically removed through his back, and she told me this because I told her I was trying to pass one myself.  Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

Hip hip hooray!

I took a gamble and won!

I have this intense body massage stick, akin to a Hitachi Magic Wand, that I use for sore muscles, sore feet etc.

I figured, dangerously, since I had a piece of kidney stone wedged in my urether from kidney to bladder, that there could be benefit to apply the massage stick right on the spot it hurts most, to either try jostle it loose or even break it up. I figured, if I fuck up, my GP doc has just gotten on duty.

But!

The massager cleared the urether, the piece is either through or broken up and through. The spot of greatest pain is gone, I can touch it again and take deep breaths again.

It was a risk, this does not constitute medical advice, but for me it worked flawlessly.

Lets hope this was the last piece.

Sorry to hear that

I have heard that consuming a lot of citrus can help prevent development of renal calculi

Actually.. Citrus contains a lot of limonene, which is a cyclohexene.

My abuse of MXE in the years previous has made my bladder wall sensitive to cyclohexenes, too much dissociatives or citrus fruit and my bladder feels meh.

I don't think it got as far as interstitial cystitis, but still, for now its sensitive to cyclohexene bladder irritants.

I very likely earned my kidney stones with eating too much animal protein, I kinda eat a lot of that.

Mine were caused by over 20 years of eating those little foil rolls of rolaids constantly every single day, sometime multiple packs of them. Haven't touched them since and I changed my eating habits as well. The only prescription med I have to take is omeprezole (I'm pretty lucky in that respect), and I could probably change my diet more and get rid of it, IDK, but I do feel pretty lucky. That one big one in my second pic was stuck there in my ureter and it came out the day before my doc appointment. When I went in and told them what happened they just said "great! You can go. We were going to HAVE TO GO IN AND GET IT if it was still there". I saved it to remind me to never eat rolaids again, lol.

its the citrates in the citrus https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18946667 , Ive never had a stone so I have never tested it but like I said earlier I have that anecdotal story

and do you even eat that much animal protein? your aolways talking about rice and lentils and congealed oatmeal vegan pasta sauce

I'm drinking a citric acid acidified diet soda yesterday and today.

I eat quite a bit of animal protein, a lot of milk proteins from quark.

I eat half a liter of quark every day but thats 50 grams of milk protein.

Quark is not unlike wet whey, it has very little lactose and fat.
