Noob brf birth question am I meant to see pins?

Hi all Lurker who finally jumped into shrooms So I have followed the guides for the brf Tek and now am wondering when to birth
My GT cakes have taken a month to get to (I think full colonization) I’ve kept them in our basement boiler room so it’s warmish (mid 70’s) and they look like they have been fully colonized for over a week but not sure if I’m meant to see pins or not
Going to move them to a shoe box (well half way between a shoe box and a tub as that’s the only thing HD sold with a clear latching lid
Any suggestions would be great I’ve read so many people say wait I’m just not sure what I’m waiting to see next
Any hints would be appreciated

You're good to go
Pinning inside of the jar is called in vitro, some do it on purpose. The only time I've had it happen was when the cakes were exposed to too much light.
-------------------- Clone -> agar -> UnBODified monotub (first attempt, left unattended a week before harvesting)
Thanks BOD 🙏

Gratitude Now I have to wait until the wife working so she or the kids dont interrupt me I’m tossing up whether to use the drill the holes method or flip the lid method, I b planned to line the bin with a black plastic bag so I don’t get as many side/bottom growers Thank you

Build a SGFC, it works like a charm. I generally wait until I see pins forming on the cake inside the jar before birthing a pf cake, that way I'm completely sure it has fully colonized the center. Also I have cakes that pin in the jar inside completely dark rooms.

Light is ok on the jars when colonizing. It won’t trigger pinning on its own. They were probably just ready or had some kind of issue that caused early pinning.
The thing with cakes is high nutrition. And full colonization is the #1 trigger for pinning. So with cakes even once fully covered with myc there is still a lot of stuff to eat so you give them that extra week in the jar that way the cake isn’t sitting in the air losing moisture while still waiting for the myc to be ready to fruit. Some people wait to see pins just to make sure but it isn’t necessary just an option.
So are you spawning these to bulk in a shoe box or fruiting them as cakes? If doing them as is you don’t need to mess with a liner just put them in a tub with perlite that gets fresh air. Either a SGFC or a humidity chamber with a cracked lid.

Oh man you’ve got to get her to eat an eighth with you. Tripping together with someone you love can be intense. I hope it works out
