Pan Cyans wilting
    #26672008 - 05/15/20 06:04 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

First time poster, long time lurker

Living in the tropics. I managed to cultivate two batches of pan cyans using -  pretty much step-for-step - this guide: http://en.psilosophy.info/the_cultivation_of_copelandia_cyanescens.html

Both batches went very smoothly, lots of lovely pins, grew remarkably fast into small-mediumish fruits, then both batches took a turn for the worse in a similar way:

1) caps became black (I later realised this was probably just spores falling onto lower caps from higher shrooms, but I'm not convinced this is the only cause).
2) all of them - pins and mature - at the same time, wilted. Flopped over and looked like they had reached the end of the road. So, both times, I immediately harvested and dumped the mycelium/substrate.

I noticed both times that the mycelium/substrate had shrunk substantially away from the sides of the container by the time the wilting happened. And we're talking probably Day 1: Casing, Day 3: Pins, Day 6: wilting.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? I guess I need to harvest as soon as the spores begin to drop, but I was kinda hoping they would continue to grow - I got greedy. Is this a common occurence with overly-mature mushrooms? I really have no idea.

For the second time around, after harvesting them all, I tried misting a lot - didn't get anything. When I chucked it, I noticed blue/green mold had spread quite a lot through the mycelium - could this be the cause? How can I prevent it in future?

Any help appreciated!

100% environmental man. what was the fruiting method and parameters you used??? pans are very very picky about their environment. i have had similar sounding results from trying to fruit in just regular ol monotubs and sgfc. but if you click the link in my sig there is some info that may help u out and also links to asura and jakes write ups as well. so between all 3 you should be able to pick up enuff info to help ya out

also search blue helix he has lots of good info also and when i update my write up a bit i will include links to his as well
