Leeches growing on Popcorn Substrate which has not been inoculated. * 2
    #26671201 - 05/14/20 06:23 PM (3 years, 8 months ago)

The pic below is of one popcorn grain that I think has a leech tail growing on its back. This is from a NOT inoculated substrate and it's just one out of many others. Is this popcorn to be thrown away? Or can this still be used to inoculate spores into? If so, what can be done?

EDIT: LMAO I'm stupid! I actually wasn't even sure if it's a leech or not. I was in doubt in what they were, but this mostly happened on an opened susbstrate and this is from some jars that were mistakenly prepared a bit too early than they should have (long story). The closed jars only had like one or two which I didn't notice. Either way, thanks for answering. Glad to know it's just to sprout, but sucks that my popcorn can't be inoculated. Oh well, it wasn't expensive.

Thats a sprout dude. Damn lol.

Wouldnt use that for you spawn since the starches are converting to sugars in the grain. Might go bad on you.

Word. What do you think could go wrong in this situation?

Your grains might start fermentation. When I was making moonshine I sprouted my grains to make them ferment. So your grains might go bad. Im no scientist tho.

Leaches :datass:

Your popcorn is sprouting. Happens to the best of us. Yes, throw away sprouted grains or plant them!
