Using lids as petri dish 1

Hello guys, newbie here..
I'm searching an alternative to petri's dish and I found this image

How could it work? There is any way? It seems to be wrapped. Anyway, I know I can use some pp5 plastic pots to substitute, but i'm wondering how could it work.

It's difficult to me buying dishes now.
How could it work? Sterilize the lids then pour the agar? Sterilize wrapped? What you think?...
It's about curiosity too.

Fair enough.
Sounds like a good plan. Do u have parafilm to wrap it with?

No, i dont. It seems to be Parafilm®, right?
I was thinking it could be something like PVC. I dont know exactly the name.. Those used to wrap food.
It's really not the same. I think I can forget this technique. Parafilm is too expensive
There is not an alternative... ya? Its just a few things can go to boil, etc..

Yes! It seems to be the same as "Plastic Wrap" is it? Clingwrap just a brand?...
I was talking about something like this. I have tons of it.
Can it go to PP/oven/steam?

Not sure what PP is.
Clingwrap is a type of Suran Wrap which is suitable for Petri dishes wrapping after they have cooled (use tin foil as covering in the PC).
Use a SAB box to cover the petri dishes with the Clingwrap.

Sorry, I mean PC!
Just to finish: What is the order? Sterilize wrapped with agar in or pour the agar separately? (All in a SAB)

Wrap agar plates in tin foil, PC them, cool the PC naturally, transfer plates to SAB then use them and/or cover with Clingwrap would be my suggestion.

If you can master sterile technique with that, you'll be badass if you end up switching to normal plates

It's kind of rustic, isn't? It's seems to be easier "no pour" technique. That's not an option to this method.
I dont know I'm going in a hard way trying lids like this. Wrap them after pour agar isnt inviable?
The easier method I found was those PP5 "no pour" like This.
Anxious to try.

Thank you.
The TEK I posted is a "copy" of this one. Pastywhyte's TEK have more details, even better.

This is actually a really good idea for people who can’t get plates easily.
I’d be kinda nervous letting them sit open while they hardened even in the SAB but you could just put foil over them I guess.
