A few from NJ - Sorry for the sideways pictures and try to correct the upload and lost patience - these were 100% buried under leaves and grass. their brethren on the fringe of an adjacent wood chip pile were very far gone - Thanks to koods for mentioning the need to dig deep sometimes

Made it back out this afternoon, almost everything I found was dried or rotted, but still got about a half a grocery bag. Sadly I think my spots may be done.

If we get a rain & the temps don't get to the 90's, we might get another round so stay positive!

Just did a twilight grab and dash on an ovoid patch in a pretty public area. I thought going when it was almost dark would have given me some privacy but there were people everywhere. Anyways I filled my bag and I gotta go back tomorrow cause there a shit ton more. Me fingers are black from spores.

Been kinda slacking on getting my pics uploaded, but finally got around to it.  Here's some of the things I've been seeing at one of my spots this past week.

Left about 60 pins. The next flush is going to be great here.

Yesterday evening went to the park nearby where there is a man-made water control feature ... lots of downed trees that have been rotting for a long time. There was 1 log that had a few pins on it, will be going back to check (this log had an old/wet/rotten mushroom on it last week). Hard to believe that would be the only occurrence of mushrooms there.

This morning I went to the large stream/river not far from where I live and walked around. (there is a substantial bridge there (for cars) and  another railroad bridge ... so a reasonably large stream (or small river)) Lots of knotweed, and it was obvious that the recent rains had caused the flood plain to ... well ... flood. Still a lot of wet and mushy spots. I tried both sides of the river, walked along the bank and inland about 100 years (lots of flat spots that were wet). No mushrooms.

Sigh. Very frustrating.

Will keep looking daily, though. If more pop up soon, I'd like to find them.

Finally some action from mulch in Middle Ohio.  While wattering this morning I saw one tiny tiny tiny mushroom with a blade of grass impaling the cap. I couldn't say for sure it was ovoid but had the cap margin color shift looked like the how the ovoids mushrooms look that seeded this mulch patch. After finished watering I went inside to get the camera and then I could not find it again...  Looked for like 5-10min and just could not spot it again some how.

Also I took one log chunk home from SE ohio that had a few chonkers growing on it about two weeks ago.  I notice this morning that it looks like a couple aborts happened, probably got too cold a couple days ago.

This stretch of weather coming up looks good.  I hope I get a nice mulch flush. I gotta check on man made ones patches in natural environments too.  No action as of a few days ago.

If you have bug problems in mulch halved and slight scooped out Potatoes seem to doing well as bait.  Rolly-poly pillbugs, worms and sluggo are attracted.  Then I just dump the bugs out far enough from the patch on a drive way that the Robins will likely eat before making it back.
