Same here mate. All well down my way. I've been enjoying one of the best fungi seasons in years where I live. I still lurk occasionally.

This was my last days haul and obviously I have enough for a long time. Maybe 75g dried for the season so far.
My objective is just to find another bush patch or 2 this year. Located 3 so far but all in the same area.
Anyway loving everyone’s photos, bloody excellent work. As a noob I can certainly say to those who are still struggling just keep looking, put in the hrs in the spots you identify as good ground and for sure you will find them. On my days off I’m been putting in 2-5hrs per day walking around. I love the bush though and combined with a bit of music I usually don’t want to return home. So stick it at I’m sure with the number of different patches I’ve come across that if you keep at it you will locate them.

Hey all, Been lurking for a while so thought I'd post some pics. Used to hunt years ago (mainly up north) but this is my first season down south. Found about 70 in 3 trips so far. First two trips were to a usual spot and found a whole steep hill had been very much picked over, but still found a few. Then today I was up the East Coast for work and thought I'd try a few spots on the way home. The pic of the massive (and going very blue) one on the plate is from a spot right next to the beach, 4m from a carpark!!!]

So here's some pictures of Galerina (impostors), Make sure that you NEVER eat these as they will stuff you up big time!!!!

Below is a comparison of Subs (on left) and Galerina (on right)
. (notice the difference in gill color?)
If you are new or recently have started hunting for magic mushrooms, make sure that you inspect each and every mushroom to make absolutely sure that it is in fact a sub
And remember to make an id thread on this site for any mushrooms you're not 100% sure about.
And if you can't do that for any reason? then chuck out the mushroom in question (it's just not worth it)
btw, I haven't seen TimmiT around for awhile but here's a picture of those yellow worms he likes.

And lastly.... I haven't seen Nevermind on this site for many years now, so if you're reading this, I hope your going well

I find that the best indicator is the stem strength. If I have any doubts I kneel down and gently bend the stem. Subs hold extremely well, they are tough and firm. Other mushies and especially gallerinas just break.

I found my first glowing yellow worm this year too, strange little creature that I’m sure will show up on a trip at some stage?

Furthering off of other people's warnings, here is a Galerina right next to a Sub that I found the other day. Noticing the gill colour difference could really help you out. Stay safe everyone, the Galerinas are lurking

This is the best way I have found too, no one really mentions it that much, subs are very woody, even water logged they will still have some rigidity to them. Galerinas and subs will grow together as well which can sometimes make it hard to tell what is what especially if the subs are getting old.

The one on the left looks more like a Cortinarius to me. Not that you'd want to eat one of those either.

That's a good point about when they're wet! I find that even when wet they're still a hell of a lot more robust than other mushies. They also seem to have a more elastic nature when wet.
Another thing I've noticed is that the blue bruising isn't that prominent when wet, and immediately after picking they may not even bruise. Once they get a chance to dry a tad the blue bruising then starts to show.
I noticed this in the early stages of my hunting career after picking wet subs... they wouldnt bruise. I was like 'wtf', then thought I'll take them home and identify them anyway. Once I got home, the bruising had appeared and there was one very happy Funkahdelic human.

Woo hoo! What a great Fkn season! I found my first one on the pipeline track in fern tree on March 23rd! Bloody unheard of! I’ve been getting a big hail every week, despite the parks restrictions.
Check out these I found in Neika this arvo! I’ve never seen anything like them. Growing in a huge patch in the open. Sorry for shitty photos, it was a bit dark at this stage...

LOL!!
Got a heap of mates who fly in once a year for a weekend of massive partying, so trying to get enough dried for 10 or so guys to have a BIG arvo/evening!!
Out of interest, does anyone know how long they take to sprout again after being picked? Does it take a big rain event? I've found a spot 40min drive away that is worth the drive if I find what I found there last time, but not if they haven't re-grown.

Hey guys, this is my first season pickin' and I've got a solid amount of lovely subs I know the dosage changes from shroom to shroom but just wanted to know a rough estimate of how much to consume for a good trip if they're dried before I gobble down. Was thinking of grinding mine up and putting into caps so that the dose is consistent. Thanks
