I was hiking Mt Baldy, AZ today &found this growing on what I think is a Ponderosa Pine about 20 ft from the river next to a little creek runoff. About 10,000 ft elevation. 65 Fahrenheit high for the day 2 days after a rainy weekend.

I'm Probably Wrong, But My Best Guess Would Be A Fomitopsis Sp.

I'm Not Sure, I'm Not That Good With Shelf Fungi. I Wouldn't Think It Is Edible, & Even If It Was, I Doubt It Would Taste Good. I Wouldn't Eat It.

I was wondering if making tea with this like people do with formitopsis pinicola would be the same or have the same medical benefits? Or if its best to just stay away

They May Be From The Same Genus, But They Still Could Have Totally Different Effects. Not Sure Which Exact Sp It Is.
Wait For A Trusted Identifier To Chime In Before You Attempt To Eat Any.
If You Want Some Medicinal Benefits, Go For A Ganoderma Sp, They Are Easier To ID.

Correct!
Habitat looks similar to where I found Psilocybe aztecorum in the white mountains: https://mushroomobserver.org/250642

Could also be Fomitopsis schrenkii, which can have a receding pore surface like yours (mounceae does not) and has been reported in AZ; mounceae has not been confirmed in AZ yet, as of 2019, per this paper, which fully describes the three relatively newly identified Fomitopsis species and states the three species likely have broader distribution and overlap than what is reported. There may be new info since that paper's publishing.
