Venus Flytrap Care

My venus flytrap that I've had for about a month now has grown a lot. It has eaten a mosquito, like 4 flies and a small nat so far. However, now,a few traps are blackening and dwindling back. Is this normal?

You have to cut the black parts off and yes it's normal. They are carnivorous and love sphagnum moss.

Yes, totally normal for the traps to die after they digest their meal.

You can, but it doesn't matter. They will rot off eventually. I just cut mine off for aesthetic reasons
