New here. Long time picker with question

So my most recent batch of shrooms(picked wild) turned black during drying. They're ovoids are naturally dark. But here what happened. It was a rather large batch and after air drying them, i put them in mason jars to removed the rest of the water, baked Epsom salts, paper towel, mesh, then mushrooms on top. Put the lids on tight. Well after about 24 hours i noticed moisture on them and the jar. I popped the lid off, it had pressure built inside. I immediately put them in the oven with the door cracked on lowest setting to finish drying, fearing they might have mold or might get mushy. Well a large portion of these were tiny caps, babys. But yeah whole batch is cracker dry but they're like solid black lol. So I weighted 3Gs out n grinded them and made tea and im just sipping on it slowly. Testing to see if they will hurt my stomach or anything. Anyone ever have this happen? Was i supposed to leave the jar lids cracked open? Or maybe i put too many in the jars? It was alot of them. Trying to figure out what went wrong. Usually i just air dry them and eat them within a week.

Hard to impossible to know for sure without clear pics. Is it from spore deposit? Or did you burn them to a crisp?

Defiantly not spore deposit. Ive never fully dried these before but it was a big haul and most of them were small which normally turn dark blue as they are. Let me upload some picks of before and after. It was my first attempt at fully drying them with Epsom salt. Only tried because i had so many. I feel like I had too many in the jars or maybe should have had the lid cracked. Ill pick more but i need to know what went wrong

I have a feeling this batch is RIP. So any tips on drying them correctly would be awesome. Going back out Friday. Will probably pick over a pound again or close to it. So definitely don't wanna make this mistake again

Invest in a food dehydrator if it’s within your allotted spending budget, they are a shroomers best friend imho.
Looks like the fungi have Epsom salts on them, that will spoil the taste imho. They do look chared or spored to the gills (bad pun) or water logged, or a mix, can’t tell which as is . Are they crunchy? Like as in, toasted from the oven? Also for some reason I can’t enhance the image when I click them, but that might be a problem on my side. The link is good though. How’d they taste ?
I used to dry by sun/fan/salts, but dehydrator simplified things for the better and has been working perfectly for the past 5ish years.
Wait for some other members to chime in

Yeah i better get one before Friday. Any suggestions on where to get one? I didn't eat any yet. Put some in tea and drank a little to see if it would hurt my stomic. Not enough to feel an effect.my my plan was to make chocolates becauae I hate the taste of mushrooms

I don’t know what anyone else is using, but I bought a Nesco American Harvest Food & Jerky Dehydrator. Can’t remember the price but was probably around $75 - $100 new. Coming up on 5 years of use, I’m kind to it, and it hasn’t given me a problem so far. Lots of cracker dry fungi and fruit tho! If your willing to spend more, there are some really good quality ones, for big bulk drying, and with neat features built into it. Quick use of any internet search engine + shroomery will guide you. If you’ve got the patience or are trying to be frugal, you can always get a used one online too.
If I’m remembering correctly I got it at some big department store like Sears, or maybe even Walmart or Bed Bath & Beyond.

Looks similar to me, but to have your fungi checked well try reposting this in the Mushroom ID section of the forum where a trusted member can make the appropriate assessment.
