A brick wall tends to mind its own business. It provides a barrier between you and danger. It protects people from hurricanes and tornadoes. It can stop a car going at a high rate of speed, protecting others. It stays up for long periods of time, not requiring much repair or maintenance. It's the strong, silent type.

Very true. Each time I walk past a brick wall I will forever be thankful and whisper, "respect."

I don't think asking anybody to put in work to tailor the info you receive so you have less work to do to find the good stuff is a reasonable request in this life, personally.
I agree to some extent, but feel it could be useful if Ythan did some of the 'magical geekery stuff' and enabled the 'nignore' function to be limited to a thread or forum, rather than 'globally' applied.
After all, some of the worst miscreants in this thread might post usefully, I don't go into mush cult very often these days, in other forums.

I thought the war analogy was all the rage these days. Front lines and all that. Back to the trenches boys,. Where's the memo that explains which war related terms and phrases are kosher?

Seems so surreal that this became a pandemic. I remember posting in the thread before it got real serious. In such a short time, so much has changed.

It would be interesting to see whether or not these people predominantly live in apartment buildings. I've read that HVAC which is supposedly used a lot as the cooling system in apartment buildings is unable to filter our the coronavirus.

the note about "predominantly minority" + the age group has me thinking a lot of cases are older generation family members living in a house with those who are not social distancing
miss my gramma being locked away in a care home right now but also thankful to have not had risk of carrying home an infection that could kill her
the HVAC angle makes a lot of sense for apartment buildings, but it is to my comprehension that it is more typical for older white people to live alone or isolated as a couple while older black and hispanic people live with their children and children's children
part of me thinks that Canada's resistence to recording racial data was partially informed by this know that in Manitoba, the earliest cases were apparently among the Filipino population and one of the risk scenarios present there was that it is not uncommon to have multiple generations in one house

McKenna was right. 2012 vs 2020 isn't too much of a tolerance distance on the eon scale.
