The inoculation loop picks up plenty of spore just from barely touching the spore print. You don’t have to see them spores are microscopic. And do Not wipe down the inside of the lid of your agar plat with anything ever. That will introduce contamination, I’d just use them how they are and try to pour at a better temp next time. You will use plates up quick so don’t worry about the condensation this round:mushroom2:

Pouring stacks of minimum 10 plates from the bottom up and leaving them stacked until they cool completely is probably more important to avoid condensation than temperature, after that I'd say the amount of agar you pour inside each dish will be the second most relevant procedure and of course pouring as cool as you can helps a lot with minimizing condensation.

Also having condensation droplets on the petri lid is far better than condensing that into water that collects on top of the nutritious agar medium. That's just my 2cents

Are you suggesting to wipe the condensation off the inside of the plates witch alcohol pads??

Alcohol doesn't sterilize, it only sanitizes.
You will most likely contaminate your plates if you do this.

Condensation isn't too big of a deal but it is annoying.

Temperature of the agar is the key to pouring plates without condensation.
I wait until my agar has cooled to the point it might start to solidify before pouring, and I get no condensation, even on top plates.

Alternatively, you can do it much more accurately using an infered thermometer (can get it at Lowe's) or a hot water bath.
Bodhisattva has a really good Tek for these methods.

I second this don't wipe your plates with pads or anything, just allow the condensation to evaporate. Doesn't matter when you pour your plates if you leave a stack inside your SAB for a few hours after pouring the condensation will dissipate.

Can I third this? Wiping or touching the inside of a petri is insane.

Also your condensation will dissipate over time if you have a healthy culture it's going to use up that RH in the plate so just leave it.

If water pools on your agar and contaminates you got other problems with your procedure the water on the inside of the lid is going to be sterile so just leave it be.
