Went for a walk today. Nothing active still but plenty of growth around the place.

Was a shame to see a bunch of people walking around pulling up and just throwing on the ground every single mushroom they came across. Found a few that the clowns didnt get to destroy for fun.

Found these little guys south of Adelaide a few days back. Pretty stoked as I am new to the area and have no mates down here to help with the search. Cute little guys.

Wow nice find, especially if you didnt know of the patch beforehand. Spotting three little pins like that at the start of the season is the work of a bona fide shroom hunter!

You say you have no mates to help, but isnt that a shoe at the top of the pic?

Thank you, I've been on the hunt for a few years now, that and luck! as for the shoe, that's my 2 year olds shoe. I was so proud of him on this walk, he pointed to a slippery jack and said "Slippery Jack". So very proud. I feel obliged to mention that of course he wasn't shown what these mushrooms were haha.

Ok, fair enough.

Did you know about the patch beforehand or did you just find it today?

Found some beautiful specimens on my first ever day out looking to see what’s around  Park bike path in the NE Suburbs. No idea what they are, but they’re quite pretty... especially that strange one with the weird pattern on it.

Ps. Yes, it’s a dog’s chew ball... had me fooled for a minute or so!

Found it the other day, I had no idea about it. Stoked! I just followed my nose. It certainly added a little something to my walk in the forest. I'm very excited for this season!

4th one down looks like active pins (Not an official I.D). Just try not to pick them too early. Give'm a chance to jizz out some spores first. Other than that enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

I went out hunting in the Hills today and made my first ever discovery of Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Happy days!! Check out how long some of them are!

Nice finds in here. I'm thinking of venturing out later in the week. Is it worth hunting North at the moment?
