I've lit candles during trips but yeah I need to do a lot of candles one time. I've never done that. That would be very cool.

I've been thinking about getting one of those kid projectors that projects stars and patterns on the ceiling, forgot the name.

Imagine going to a place with nearly 0% light pollution clouding the sky? - I bet it would evoke a profound and ineffable sense of the mystical.
Since it already can put one in mind of the aforementioned as is..imagine doing so while tripping? The Sky is one of the most potent symbols
humanity has in its traditions in bringing to mind the mystical, the grand cosmic mystery, the infinite, the absolute, pure emptiness, God Mind.
And There’s a reason for that!- in a sense, or way of speaking - it simultaneously both always contains, and is, the primordial- one in all, one
in all.

Man I miss the swamps of Florida in the winter and being able to lay out under clear sky with minimal light pollution. Some crazy trips!

For small doses I usually start with no music and like to just meditate and observe all the effects as they take hold, it's really a cool experience to notice the shift in thought patterns and the increasing fluidity of cognition. I'll usually turn to music after the 'peak'.
Total opposite for larger doses. I usually start with music to relax a bit and distract from the anxiety and what not that happens as the brain starts to recognize things are going amiss with the body... for me my heart starts racing more, I get cold and clammy, stomach starts feeling weird, and music helps to not focus on all that. Once things get rolling though I usually find that music becomes overstimulating and too intense until after the peak, and I go mostly without after that.

I always end up blasting Shpongle or something similar, after the peak I tend to turn off the music for a bit to calm calm down and then put on some relaxing music.
I really want to do the classic "5g in the dark in silence" that old uncle Terrence spoke of but I somehow always get come up anxiety without music. I also have tinnitus so silence can be bothering.

Definitely both.
I always start with music, helps with the come up and when blasting off. But usually, after peaking and plunging down the rabbit hole a bit, I have the urge to turn off the music and just be.
Weirdly enough, for me, it's usually because I have to take a piss, and when I come back I no longer feel like listening to music again so i don't put my headphones back on.

A couple of months back, I got myself a rough and ready shamanic drumming playlist off Spotify. I listened to it in darkness with headphones on for two hours before realising the mushrooms I’d taken were weak and ineffective! And it also dawned on me at that moment the shamanic drumming playlist was sh1te
Silence always makes a trip much more “wild” for me, especially when the auditory hallucinations kick in and you start to hear the cosmic music!
Music is a great method for grounding you, when the going gets tough. It can also have wonderful effects on your closed eye visuals. Heavenly!
But when even Shpongle doesn’t ground you, strap yourself in, you’re going for a ride......

I couldn't get with it either. Cant believe people listen to that on DMT! Tried listening to Tapper too and it was a little better but still a little much for me. I really like Dirty Heads and Stick Figure personally when I'm tripping. They make me happy.

Shpongle is a mix of weird/goofy/absurd with spiritual/Philosophical/Tranquil. Each album is different and every album seems to have elements of both types of music.
Nobodycares, have u listened to Bluetech before?

Shpongle should definitely be listened to as full albums in the right order instead of individual songs.

Yeah they just don't do a single thing for me except make me laugh at how many genres they cram into one song. I like everything they do individually, but as a whole it's just too much.
I love complicated music and world music, but there's something just inherently hollow and goofy about it. I've tried enough of their full albums at this point to know the time still isn't right. Been trying to get into them since the mid 90s...Usually I can get into an album that most like after returning to it that right point in life. But 25ish years of trying It's never clicked
Sucks, I hear great things and I see the appeal, but I'm just a fucking snob when it comes to music. Very few electronic acts I like, it's inorganic to me!
I did like STS9 when they first hit the scene.
