I'm pretty sure that's a colony of bacteria.

I've also seen it occur in different colors before; pretty sure it was orange once.

That is bacteria. You will definitely want to make a transfer before your myc reaches it.

Is it even worth it? I just made that transfer, the myc hasn't had a chance to grow at all.

It's up to you , you could let it grow just a little and before the myc touches the bacteria transfer from the side farthest from it.

Or, if you have other plates transfered from the same donor plate you could toss it.
Or just take another transfer from the donor plate.

Its bacteria. Has that slimy, goo appearance. And good advice mushpunx, if the mycelium reaches the bacteria, it will combine and the bacteria will grow on the mycelium itself.

You could also just move your whole wedge to a new plate if you don't wanna wait for the mycelium to grow, and if you have an extra plate.
