Does anyone here like to be in ketosis?

I fast for 4-5 days at a time some weeks, just as I start to enter ketosis, I eat and kick myself out of ketosis, so this weekend I spent $80 to buy 3 days worth of keto foods so I could go right into my next fast in ketosis, but I fucked it up
I ate a week ago sunday, then monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday I fasted, I checked my ketones on day 3, wednesday, and the piss strip was still blank, I forgot to check thursday before I left for my gf's for the weekend
so I assume I started to show colour on the strips on thursday but Im unsure, anyways I ate all my keto foods for friday, saturday and sunday, but on saturday I ate a handfull of cashews she had, I thought they might be keto, but I checked my urine today and the strips were blank
so I spent all that money, never felt quite satiated on the keto foods either, and turned down some treats she had for no reason really, she dosnt have internet or I would have queried if cashews were keto, I checked it out just now and they have 22g carbs

Not something I've ever really kept track of, though I do multi-day fasts occasionally. I've found that just eating less calories in general, and within a smallish time period (11am-6pm) is when I feel my best and can keep my ideal weight pretty easily. Cutting out most sugar and going easy on empty carbs are the only real restrictions I keep up with.

I fucking LOVE the feeling of slamming hard into ketosis at about the 75 hour mark of a water fast.
However it's not sustainable for me because I love beer and the first time I meet friends and have one it knocks me straight out of it.
Probably something I will pursue more and more as I get older.

You can cause kidney damage if you stay in ketosis too long.

OP’s stupid ideas about diet are probably causing him permanent organ damage. Idk why he just can’t eat like a normal person.

Normal as in excessive amounts of food without restriction? According to the numbers 40 percent of Americans are overweight.

Dude, fuck ketosis! Just do intermittent fasting or lower your carbs to bring down your TDEE. Ketosis makes me an agitated motherfucker, and you do not have to sacrifice precious muscle if you simply manipulate your carb intake ever so slightly.

Oh -- and it can take 4-7 days to go into full blown ketosis... By that time, most people can't take a lack of carbs and pig out on junk food. The keto diet sucks, I'm sorry!

This is a YMMV thing.
For me, I have never experienced such clarity of mind when sober as I do in ketosis. I find it to be an utterly incredible state.
Admittedly the muscle loss is a big turn off for me, but the state of mind is nothing less than sublime IMO.

Ive been in full ketosis since december, and two months of full carnivore, years ago i did a few years of full carnivore too.
It works for me because almost everything makes my colon bloat.
I don't experience muscle loss at all but it totally wrecks my strenght. Like, from 60kg arnold press to 40kg. When i did a keto bulk i even gained muscle while doing shitty low weights

Fascinating. So, for a true fast, or at least the fasting being described here, is this water only for 24-48 hours? Would tea be allowed, or any other liquid?

some people say black coffee or tea is allowed and wont effect autophagy, I think there was one study where they used coffee and it was fine, and thats where the parroted fact comes from, but even if its true, most studies done on coffee are done using 8oz a day, and the average coffee drinker drinks like 16-32 oz a day so that might also effect something
but I just fast for weight loss and not autophagy, so I drink hella coffee, because im not worried if the small amount of protein in a black coffee will trigger mtor, im just worried about triggering insulin, and black coffee wont trigger insulin, I drink those flavoured waters called bubbly too, maybe 1 or 2 a day

it was liver at every meal I ate, which would have been like 2-3 a week, and vitamin A is the toxic substance in liver, copper is in seafood, most people are deficient in copper cause no one eats seafood, and they overload in zinc which is the land animals equivalent to copper

thats interesting, I wonder why no one mentions it, maybe you would die of the vit A toxicity before you overdose on copper
another nutrition website says 9mg is only 700%

Upper limit of Vitamin A is 3mg or 3000 ug and copper is 10mg or 10000 ug. Not sure how copper is metabolized but Vitamin A is stored in liver, is fat soluble, and poses a health risk especially preformed.
