Wet filter disk patch after PC ==> start over?

I prepped 7 qt jars of rye berries this morning with the intention of transferring clean myc from agar this afternoon. I just pulled them from the PC, and it looks like the filter disk patch over the GE hole is damp on every jar.

I'm assuming the dark coloration is bleeding from a guide circle I drew with a sharpie before applying silicon. Maybe they're OK, and I should just let the filter dry out before inoculating?
Also, this is my second round of prepping rye jars, and they look much, much wetter than my first go. The grains fall apart nicely when I roll the jar, but a bunch of soaked ones are sticking to the jar.

I was planning on inoculating them with very nice mycelium from clone transfers, but the potential for contamination in these jars has me worried. Do they look like they're even worth inoculating? I have a bunch of other clean plates with "lesser" looking myc on their second transfer from a MS syringe. Maybe I should noc these jars with those plates and save my clone myc for a better round of rye jar prep?

Yea ur moisture levels look like they were messed up.
Put tin foil on top of your jars until inoculation

Yea jars look pretty wet have you shaken them yet? What kind of filter disk did you use is that sfd? Filter should be fine but your grain does look a little too wet.

I rolled the jars, trying to keep grains away from the lid, and the grains fell apart like they're supposed to.
I used a quarter ($.25) sized patch of SFD, silicone sealed over a 5/16" GE hole, with the tin lid upside down.
If I inoculate these jars today, is there any chance the moisture will regulate through the GE hole? Or is it not worth wasting good mycelium?

Shake the jar to redistribute moisture then post another pic.. You can also leave them sitting around for a week or two to absorb excess moisture before using. You don't want to use grain with too much moisture but I guess if you're 100% sure your cultures are clean you could probably get away with it.

Yeah I'll use these cultures on 2nd transfer from MS...

The condensation seems to be thinning as they cool. And I live in a very dry climate (except its fucking snowing today). So I guess ima give 'er a go

I'd still give them a shake to redistribute moisture don't be scared of grain touching the filter it won't harm anything.

At least half of your grains look dry AF like not even hydrated despite tons of water in the jars? That's just my eyes tho.

Did you cover your jar lids well with foil before PC run?
Might want to consider switching to the autoclavable plastic lids - they're super cheap. I flame heat the back of a drill bit and punch a hole (they can crack when drilling) , and then just fit a whole SFD up underneath. Alternatively you can stuff polyfill thru the hole. One piece lids are easier to work with.

^ This is a gallon spawn jar, that's why it has 3 holes

Jars are looking much better today. Most of the condensation is gone, and the grains are looking on point, if anything a bit dry.

I think what happened was they looked super fried because there was very little water left in the PC after sterilization. Then when I removed them from the PC into my cold ass living room during a snow storm, the temp differential created lots of condensation inside the jars. I covered them with a double layer of foil before the PC run, so I'm assuming all the moisture was from inside. Looks like the grains reabsorbed most of the excess.
I'll look into other lid teks after my project today. I'm gunna try BOD's Oat tek for 7 quart jars and inoculate them with my clone plates. I've got 7 SFDs on hand, so I'm just gunna use a full disk under tin lids with a GE hole to avoid the likelihood of a shitty silicone patch seal.

Yeah I have had jars come out like that - I shake them up and let them cool and they sort themselves out.
Do look into the plastic lids I linked you too! They work much nicer!
