Are you a NEET?

Who here is a neet? (Not in education employment or training)
I suppose now since the quarantine this is a reality for more people. But for some people this is just normal life. I know for me it was for a long time. And still kinda is, although i do have a job at the moment, i dont do anything else. I have no goals or ambition, and just focus on my mental health really. Every day is just a struggle to maintain and contain my anxiety, and then i have no energy to do anything else after working all day, besides stare at my phone.
When i was a NEET i did a lot more thangs and , and in general just had fun. But now i gotta work full time and barely afford rent and still not even have enough money for food.
Being a neet is pretty much my dream life, i dont understand why its so looked down upon. Who doesnt love binge watching youtube videos of gordon ramsay and eating chicken tendies exclusively?
Anyone else?

Being a "NEET" is looked down upon because society wants you to fall into the same trap that they did. Nothing in the world is free, so at the end of the day we have to do something for money, whether we like it or not.

Being a neet would make me feel so depressed. I don’t need additional depth added to my hole

Maybe it's because I've never had a lot of friends, but I feel empty without a goal to work towards. I really used to hate summer break because I'd get bored and depressed because I was alone and not working on anything. I like working, just not my current job.

Well part of the idea is it is a lot easier to work towards your GOAL when you are a neet.
When i was a neet i had all the free time in the world to work on personal projects or get my skillset up so i didnt have to work minimum wage and could focus on a business or career

I would do my job as a volunteer even if money were not necessary
Doing my job and pursuing my goals are one in the same, making money is just an added bonus

I have real trouble setting up and following through with goals unless I have some outside pressure. For example, I was taking russian classes before the pandempic, but I rarely studied without my teacher and now I almost don't at all.

What's going on right now isn't so bad temporarily.
I really enjoy working long hours and i like to just keep on going, close to 24/7 like a high speed machine.
I completely surpassed everything, that people told me i could never do and I'll do it again.
Everybody seen me as a futur problem to society with no promise. I don't have a problem with anyone. They do seem to have one with me it's only because they hate themselves. I'm nothing special to this world but fuck all of the cowards who questioned my value. They can't even look you in the eyes.

No, I've never been a NEET, I've always either had a job or been getting an education or both. I think that jobs and education can improve a person, even if you don't enjoy it. Working out isn't always enjoyable, but it still makes you a better person.

Read the thread title wrong, and was ready for some serious discussion on NON-EXERCISE-ACTIVATED-THERMOGENESIS.

Not a single opportunity in my life has popped where I'm all "oh man I'll make a desirable income" not one time. Nah we are in the transition period at the very very end of the U.S.
Very few have opportunities that even pay rent and those that choose to sacrifice personal space (e.g. 12 peeps to a 4 person house) still dont get anywhere. And then they wonder why our only escape is drugs
-------------------- Only hope can give rise to the emotion we call despair. But it is nearly impossible for a man to try to live without hope, so I guess that leaves Man no choice but to walk around with despair as his companion.

It's possible to be a perfectly respectable NEET as you call it. What if you live on your own land and produce your own energy and grow your own food and don't need to be EET?
You need to be EET in an extreme way taking extreme measures till you save enough money to buy this advanced level of NEETness

Through out most of my life I have been getting an education while working and be trained for different skills. Most of it wasn't easy or fun, but I'm glad I did most of it and it all paid off to more opportunity and more pay.

LOL, with your attitude you will never make a good income. Why would anyone just come and give you a big salary for nothing? Makes no sense at all. You wither have to start at the bottom and work your way up or have some kind of skill that they need.
