Hi fellow foragers, I found these on the weekend in a pine forest after moderate rain a week ago followed by low overnight temps (1-5°C). These guys grew singularly and some black/blue bruising occured on the stems.

That was quick, thanks! Where these grew there were lots of very similar looking ones, which grew from a clump, were 'mushy', and had a slight blue/green tinge one the edges of the caps.

Do the gills have a greenish tint or are they smokey grey? I can't tell from the pictures but H. fasciculare will have a greenish tint to the gills and H. capnoides has smokey grey gills.

Hi Doc, I didn't keep them but from memory it was a grey colour without green. However the cap itself had a kind of hint of jade on its verges. I looked up H.Fasciculare and the images that came looked very close to what l had found. Thanks for the advice.
