Unmodified tub taking long time? (Update day 18 no pins)

It was been 11 full days in and I think this is an issue of more sub than spawn as I mixed in 4 qt jars that may have been closer to half than 2/3rds full and the 5th one was filled almost to the top mixed with 650G of coir pasteurized to field capacity and lid flipped and sometimes taken off for a short period of time to allow plenty FAE. Lights on 12/12. I noticed a few days in condensation raining from The lid. Temps stay between 72-79 and over 50% RH where it is stored.
I’m thinking possibly not all the spawn was fully colonized itself as well? What do you guys think?

It definitely doesn’t look very healthy, maybe bacteria judging by some of the grains but they can look like that just from being broken up during spawning too.
Why do you say the spawn might not have been colonized? Weren’t the jars at 100%?
Some of the coir looks a little dry too but I don’t think that’s the problem.
Good luck man I hate losing spawn like that it sucks.

No foul smell , should a pseudo casing layer of coir or coir+verm be added?

you can see some of the dry look at the coir color but I wouldnt give up yet. Get mist/FAE cycles going and see if it dont sprout. 11 days is just gettin ready to fire off. or turn green

Day 18 it seems to have growth and also appears to be hypae growth going on

I know the entire top is dry. I didn’t want to add any more moisture due to there still being so much underneath.. see the side view.

It didn't colonize. You can try again with better spawn

It looks like it dried out too much, and it's possible your grain had a bacterial infection of some sort that lead to it not growing into the sub. You want the entire sub to be as moist as it is below that top layer, that's why you don't do FAE until it's colonized.

I’m pretty sure the spawn was a bacteria ball unless I’m thinking of somebody else.
Did you use corn?
