Came across this specimen by the side of the main road this morning while on the return leg of my village bike ride in nor-east Tassie.

First time partaker; been reading and researching, but wisely appreciate feedback and advice.
1. This is an amanita muscaria?
2. No blue in the stem when squeezed, but perhaps that's just for other types; been a while since I read up on shrooms.
3. Based on research, am going to try a small fresh piece, the size of my little fingernail, to see how I handle the toxins; thoughts?
4. No access to oven or dedicated drying device, but will cut up and loosely wrap in tinfoil and sit on fan-forced electric heater which runs (thermostat controlled) 24\7 in my room at 22-24C; is that okay to dry it out? That's about it.
Cheers. Einzelganger

Yes, amanita muscaria. Amanitas doesn't bruise blue.

If you want to consume that then I recommend you REALLY research amanita consumption. Muscaria is more a deliriant/intoxicant and not a hallucinogen.

Cheers, Psilosadhu.
Though it seems I used far too much heat trying to dry the pieces. The fan-forced heater just cooked them for the hour they were on it. They were still moist, and I remembered the electic frypan I use to hot wax my bike chain.
So I cleaned that up and set it to simmer at 100C, and placed the shrooms a few inches above the pan with the lid half way over them. Let it go all night , only to find them just now at 3am, very hard and small, cooked instead of gently dried out. Noooooooo ! ~sadness~
Just consumed a piece that didn't even register as 1g.

Cheers for the advice, though I've no idea why you've emphasised 'really'.
I consider I've done enough research to choose amanitia muscarias over halluinogens. For my healing and development journey, I have zero interest in hallucinating, as I see no benefit to soul alchemy in doing so.
Altered states of mind, yes; hallucinating, no.

Amanita muscaria, be warned, they are not anything like Psilocybe species.
edit can I ask where your research material came from? erowid vaults has some good reads about the use of this mushroom. Also, psychoactive doses are not needed for therapeutic doses. As a matter of fact a dose should be not felt at all, but have a cumulative affect from several doses. I usually don't have any real benefit until about the 3rd dose of a 6wk regimen.
