How do you even Millet?

Hello Shroomerers!
Im taking my first dive into millet prep and Im not sure it's going well. I made my first batch using The Ratio Method and ended up with a solid puck in the bottom of the jar and the rest looking crispy, which I felt must have been a fail on my part.
My second attempt was with a 24 hour soak > loaded into jars > PC'd for 90 mins. I have similar results, solid chunk at the bottom and the rest looking burned/caramelised. After smashing the jars against a tyre for a minute they look a bit more acceptable (the pucks buried by the loose grains), but I do not have a trained eye at all.
I have some Agar waiting to go and would like to drop some in these jars, but would I just be wasting my time? Any advice appreciated.
Fresh out the PC shaken a little:

Crispy on top, solid mush on the bottom?

After being battered on a tyre for 5 mins:

Millet has a pesky tendency to be starchy as heck after cooking. I don some heatproof gloves and hit / shake them straight out of the PC, the sooner the better. I found when I don't the same issue happens. I use an adaptation of the Ratio Method, minus the gypsum and 25ml of water. I also let then soak in their jars for anywhere between 4-24 hours before PCing.

Ok so why not do a no soak. 10 min rolling boil, dump Millet and then table dry? You want the outside of the kernel dry to the touch before loading and PCing because it will prevent the starches from traveling.

Yep I table dry mine after sitting in a wide collander for hours. 12 hr soak. Bring water to a boil then turn it down and let simmer for 10-15, then drain, HOT water rinse (thoroughly), plop it into my collander (with mesh insert) and let drain for a couple hrs. Then I dry on a couple layers of paper towel until it's satisfactory. I'll kind of roll the millet once or twice across the paper towel as well to turn the grains. But yeah getting that hot rinse in and oh I forgot I rinse once more with cold water after the hot rinse. Important. Best of luck.

Ok thanks for the advice all.
I'm guessing that means these jars are a write off then?

I'm sure the birds will love them.
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night
