No soak rye TEK

Hey y'all,
I've been experimenting with Rye TEKs and am curious if anyone has a good boil or simmer (no soak) TEK they could share.
I have heard various things from 10 min boil to bring to 190 degrees, pour rye and gypsum, cover for 45...
Thanks so much!

I wash and then soak my rye grain for 4 hrs - soak is done in a sealed PC or pan, then boil for around 15min, and PC for 1hr 30min at 15psi. I add the gypsum to my coco/verm mixture after sterilizing my grain - when spawning the jars.

Rolling boil a PC with water. When at full boil add grains run for 20-30 minuets. Strain and table dry.
Load and PC. Pretty much all grains can be done this way.

Spitball Jedi wrote a good one. I have used it before, it works well.
I prefer to soak though. I rinse and strain my rye several times to wash it, soak overnight, strain + rinse. Then simmer for 10 minutes, remove + let steam dry. Fill jars/bags when cool.

RogerRabbit said: Don't get hung up on the endospore problem. Soak in hot water at least 4 hours, which will hydrate/soften the grains enough that they won't burst when you boil. If the grains are hydrated, so are the bacterial endospores which will then be nuked in the pressure cooker. As foo said, long soaks can be counterproductive because many endospores will germinate and then make more endospores right in the soak water. You could easily end up with more than you started with. Consider 24 hours maximum. RR
I'll just leave this here.

I just soak overnight because it's convenient, I soak + walk away and in the AM I prep my grain. It works out to maybe 6-8 hours?

8hrs I'd say is pushing it with a soak. I've actually gone through and done SO MANY rye grain teks because its my favorite medium to grow with. You can prep and sterilize it within a five hour period at best if you cut a few corners - which doesn't help ya trust me. I like to stay pretty calculated when it comes to my grows, my math shows that what RR states is true; four hour soak, fifteen minute boil, allow to cool for an hour and bam good spawn. I have actually wanted to do a write up comparing rye teks given I prep it almost every other day.
