Not cultivating but been picking woodlovers lately and im only limited by the amount of mushrooms I cant fit in my dehydrators. Looking into purchasing one of the large commercial dehydrators or even building one DIY. looking for input from those who own large dehydrators hoping to get guidance before I spend a bunch of money on something.

Get a nice sized Dehydrator. I use the aroma Nutriware. Or get several cheap ones. Doesn't natter, just make sure the dehy you get has a fan and temp control for best results.
Spread out some cardboard or something and place all of the mushrooms on while having a fan blowing directly over them.
As the dehydrator finishes up batches, feed the partially fan dried mushrooms into the Dehydrator. They have had somewhat of a head start.
Depending on the density of your mushrooms the dehydrator shouldn't take long to finish off the partially air dried mushrooms.
Repeat until complete.

Id build one OP. Thatd be your best bet. Its basically a wooden box with a heated fan inside. Thats the basics of it.

That has to be the most economical way, it will be easier to maintain if i built it too. Thinking make turning an old fridge into one just replacing the refrigeration unit with a fan and heater. Would help maintain that stealth factor

I have some of the 160 liter cabelas dehydrators. I love them. They're super fast and efficient
If that's bigger than you're thinking they make the same one in a 80 liter model

ya, certain space heaters and fans will overheat and break when pout in an enclosed space so cabellas gives u some insurance for yer $ but similar sized dryers can definitely be made for less

That looks like what I am looking for, what kind of wood did you use? What kind of heater/fan do you use? That kind of looks like a heat lamp at the bottom.

I use the same one, 160l. Highly recommended to get the Cabela's brand. It's a pretty penny but worth every cent, IMO.
