Lots (most?) of people these days put their subs into fruiting conditions when spawning. So, yes.

Yeah, put into fruiting and skip the colonisation save about a week or so of time.

Either way will work, I let some tubs colonise before 'fruiting' but noticing the ones I put into fruiting from mixing always seem to do better and are much faster to produce fruits.
