Mold on my no pour agar BEFORE inoc? 1

I've been having little success with Petri dishes so decided to try some no pour. I sat baby food and salsa jars in the pressure cooker ready to PC for a couple days.
I've gotten them out to take a look and there is mold just on the surface on pretty much if not all of the agar, a lot of the bacteria looks similar to what I was experiencing on the Petri dishes.
This leads me to think there could be a problem with my agar or the food colouring , idk. Then I thought maybe I didn't wash the jars 100%, but I'm sure I did and it's only on the surface.
Or maybe because it wasn't pressure cooked right away?
Really frustrating trying to get some success with agar.
Cheers

They hadn't been pressure cooked yet, one of the possible reasons. Just didn't know pressure cooking agar would inhibit mold (I know we cook it so it's clean, sounds stupid when I say that) or that it would get moody after 2 days without a pressure cook. Surely it shouldn't, for example if you was using it for cooking.
I pressure cook by putting it on high until it steams/whistles a little, then put the weight on, and time it from then, turning the heat down slightly.

uhhh, yeah. Thats why you PC agar, to sterilize it for use. If you dont, u will grow something on that agar material. PCing agar is essential to the process.
Are you using this guide? https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/25137693

Nono I know this, as I said in my comment - It's more the fact it's appeared after 2 days without a pressure cook and the mold is similar to that even with a pressure cook.

Ok. Yeah, things like mold grow fast on agar cause its so ideal. Even in 2 days. When you make no pour, u gotta PC that stuff right afte making the agar mixture.
