Where do you think all this "life saving stimulus and UI benefit" money is going to come from, while avoiding inflation?
Who believes they are going to have their jobs "saved" for them so they can soak unemployment up, then just "go back" when that money is gone (sounds like you figured this out faster than most, good for you)?
What are people going to do when nobody is hiring employees because it's cheaper to automate, customers don't want to risk coming in, and it becomes cost prohibitive to employee people?
Are you seeing the meat industry already hitting a wall and not being able to stock grocery stores? We sure are here.

Landlords want their money.
People have been out of work, not making money.
Do some math here.
I'll be a dick.
Many people were already living paycheck to paycheck before shutting down.
And $1,200 is an insult, considering it's our fucking tax dollars, that will be asked for back next year when filing taxes.
For a misleading doc saying two million will perish.
All while numbers add up and reveal a death rate somewhere between .11-.22%.

Here's a big one, OP: how are doctors experiencing so much job loss if they're essential, arguably never more essential than during a pandemic?:

But hey, looks like stocks may be rebounding and still well above 2016 numbers.
So, according to Trump, still way ahead.
Way ahead.

Pork is the least of anyone's concerns right now.
There are people that think money comes from the air and there's 0 repercussions for duct taping society together with broken, often authoritarian policy indefinitely.

"The big concern is that until there is a vaccine, many Americans won't go to restaurants, concerts, stadiums or do anything that involves a crowd.
"People will self-regulate. Just because your governor says you can go out, doesn't mean you will do it," Harris said.
Bank of America expects the unemployment rate will retreat to 7.5% by the end of 2021 and won't reach pre-crisis levels until 2022."

almost half of food produced is thrown in the garbage. we dont need a recession or pandemic to know that is a huge problem

"Here’s the paragraph from Thomas’ book that applies: “According to one study [the one by Bluestone et al.] a 1 percent increase in the unemployment rate will be associated with 37,000 deaths [including 20,000 heart attacks], 920 suicides, 650 homicides, 4,000 state mental hospital admissions and 3,300 state prison admissions.” https://nypost.com/2020/04/20/explaining-the-link-between-unemployment-deaths-amid-coronavirus/

Right. Now, a much larger percentage will be lost because there will be no laborers to harvest.
You know, all those illegal immigrants that bust ass to feed their own families. Won't be able to do that no more, because no unemployment for them.
