New to this and need help with I.D

Hi I'm new to foraging for mushrooms. Have tried in previous years but never found anything promising. However I have found 2 types of mushroom growing meters from each other in the same grass. I believe number 1 to be some type of "liberty cap" and number 2 to be subs.
Number 1:

Habitat:grassy path near a harbor
Gills:Brown with a hint of purple, not attached.
Stem:30-80mm long 3mm diameter curly slight blue at base and bruising dark blue/black.
Cap:5-20mm diameter, brown with vertical lines visible when wet, drying from top down to a light tan colour. Has a clear removable pellicle when wet.
Spore print color: brown with very slight purple
Bruising: Black/blue.
Number 2:

Habitat: Grassy path near harbor.
Gills: light brown not attached.
Stem: 40-70mm in length 4-6mm diameter,bruising blue.
Cap: dark brown/orange, attached to stem on the smaller caps.
Spore Print Color: Dark Brown
Bruising: blue.
This is a photo of both types drying.

What Part Of The World Were These Found? (General Area)
You Definitely Have A Psilocybe Sp In There, Possibly Psilocybe Subaeruginosa.

These are not liberty caps. They all appear to be the same species to me. I think you've got psilocybe makarorae. Were they growing from the grass or from wooden debris in the grass?

I think there is definitely 2 distinct species. Just look at the stem thickness in the photos also the caps are quite a different shape/colour.

Mushrooms can vary greatly within species, but could be. Could you ring around those you think are different in that last picture? Close up of the gills, stems and caps of both is a good idea. What were they growing from?

They were growing from the rotting grass underneath the new grass.

The area is not a Forrest but just a open grass path at a public park. There are a lot of flax and small native plants in the park with only a couple of large pine trees that were about 30m away but the mushrooms were not underneath or near any of these plants. Just near the transition from long to short grass.

Trees doesn't need to be very near, psilocybe doesn't form mychorriza with trees, but some grow on debris. The only species growing from grass in NZ are psilocybe semilanceata, which it is not. P. tasmaniana seems to be the most likely one. Grows in grass, but not from it, but rather from the substrate under it, soil or decomposing wooden debris. P. makarorae looks similar. Can't really rule out subaeruginosa, which can vary a lot, but they usually look quite different and grows from wood chips. It is one of these three, maybe someone with more experience with these species want to chime in. Very cool find in any case!

Hey thanks for the input. I will try to get a photo of the habitat and substrate when I go back. Conditions here have turned a bit warm again with little rain. Once conditions are good again I will go back and hopefully get some detailed photos. But yes also if anyone experienced in New Zealand wants to chime in I will be very thankful.

Intriguing. If possible take good pictures of them in their habitat before and after picking. I would go back asap.

Ok I was driving past so I Went back to get those photos. Here they are. The trees are more like 50m away and they seem to be growing from dead grass anyway.
I only managed to find two specimens of type 2 growing today, there were none of type 1.

It would be helpful if you could take pictures before you pick them. 2 looks like an active species, is the spore print black or purplish.

If you look at picture number 7 in the original post he has both of them together. I believe they're all one and the same. Definitely active, definitely psilocybe.

when considering tree relationships with fungi, the rule is if the tree can fall and touch the mushroom (felling range) then you document the tree species.
