contrary to current popular opinions, i do not want to go back to work. im not totally comfortable going back this soon, but id rather not lose my job.

I hear you, brother. I am considered an essential worker and, other than a brief furlough (2 weeks), I have been working for the entirety of this pandemic. There is a facility right down the street from where I work where approximately 50 people have become infected with Covid-19. It's unsettling because my employer does not provide any of its employees with N95's, only cheap cotton masks that do not properly protect against the 3 micron length Sars-CoV-2, and poorly enforces social distancing. As worried as I am about personally getting infected, I am even more concerned that I will pass it along to family members I come into contact with should I contract the virus.
Some people think it's just about getting so-called "free money" -- it isn't. Actually, I make a fairly decent living. I am not wealthy, but I am not struggling to pay the bills each month. I am genuinely concerned about my health and the health of others I come into contact with, particularly a family member who is in their 60's, who is also a cancer survivor and has type II diabetes. It's a shame that we must choose between paying the bills and jeopardizing our health and the health of our family members. I sometimes feel like either way we are screwed, you know what I am saying? This is definitely a "profit before people" type of situation our government has created, effectively bastardizing people who have a legitimate reason to be worried by making them out to be lazy or just wanting free money. Nothing could be further from the truth. We just want to be safe.

Experts are already predicting second and third waves of infections, which they say might cause even more deaths than this already horrific first wave. This is not over by a long shot, not until a vaccine or effective treatment is developed.

The h3n2 pandemic of the 60's is still going, the h3n2 flu is now the most common flu we have.

Take your carcinogenic flu vaccines and piss off.

Gee, I have a hard time wondering why. Perhaps it's due to being injected in flu vaccines.

I bet you were okay with the $1 trillion given to Wall Street, right? Because those rich bankers, the ones who can afford to miss work during this pandemic, create profits for themselves and their elite buddies jobs for Americans. Let me guess, you think people do not have a valid reason to be worried for their health or the health of their family, right? You think it's all about "free money," but don't care when it is given to big corporations or Wall Street. Am I wrong?

I'm a firm believer the economic devastation is going to kill a lot more people than this virus, even with the lockdown measures, social distancing, and masks use in place.
First wave, second wave, doesn't matter.
The economy is fucked and that's going to screw people in more ways than thought possible.
You see these morons "amazed" that it took so long for the government to get much-needed checks out? Are you also a small business owner that experienced the shit show of the PPP, whom, 7 weeks behind their promised delivery date, mismanaged the entire program and shafted millions of small business owners with a fraction of the money promised, coupled with more stipulations and debt risk?
Yeah, that was an appetizer of what's to come when shit actually hits the fan.

hopefully the biggest changes will come in the form of paid sick time, or even unpaid sick time being offered by ALL employers. whats sad is that many "essential" workers do not have this privilege.
hopefully people wont have to go in to work when they have even just a common cold and should stay home.
