AC units in plants and cutting rooms circulate the air pretty well by design. Back when I was a cutter; one cutter would get sick then like clock work we all would get our turn over the next couple weeks.

it will go away in the sense that other deadly pandemics have went away but are not completely eradicated from the planet. which is pretty obvious. Even if orange man bad said it

The multiple sources I checked say they offered testing to the entire company, of which 412 tested positive and at least 90% of those were asymptomatic.
Some doctors are saying it's more likely all these people are presymptomatic, which may be a valid counterpoint considering one employee died since this story came out.

Everyone has to wear their masks at work but go to the same restrooms with no training in aseptic technique. The masks become absolutely moot. Also break rooms and relaxed attitudes. People wearing the mask under their nose. Etc ...
The masks are to keep the borderline schizos from staying home. Not to protect anyone

I don't think the issue is whether the virus will go away or nearly so, or be highly treatable or effectively contained through an effective vaccine. I think the issue is whether any of this going to happen in time to salvage Trump's political career. I'm sure he's thinking of it that way. I don't think it will be.
And the related economic issues have an equal impact on Trump's prospects. Some people will go back to work. Other people will have no jobs to return too. The economic repricussions will be long lasting, well past the election. I'm not talking about Wall Street which will recover nicely in most sectors. Main street has a lot of suffering ahead.
Currently, we are experiencing significant wage growth, but not many have increased wages. It's the result of lower level jobs being eliminated much more than better jobs.

The Job Keeper subsidy($750 a week here) has distorted the absolute fuck out of the economy.
I was quite happy to stay off it and bump along the bottom but I'm pricing myself out of the game by doing so.
It has effectively subsidised half the workforce which desperate business' are using the wrong way and dropping their prices which will result in a race to the bottom.
I've decided to drop out of the installation game briefly, grab the subsidy, and focus on other areas to turn a dollar... and go fishing, may as well.
The pub's are opening next weekend, 10 people allowed. That's going to be interesting

Only good thing about viruses like this is they tend to give you resistance to some other baddy down the road.

Most viruses that cause pandemics end up becoming childhood diseases.

Not exactly. The resistance described in this article is genetic. Those who didn’t have it were more likely to die, therefore the protective mutation became more prevalent in subsequent generations. This kind of immunity is something you are either born with or not, and exposure to a virus isn’t going to change that.

Sorry I misspoke, didn't mean you yourself, your future generations. Viruses weed out bad genetics

So a bunch of people in and around the White House are now being quarantined, including Dr. Fauci, the CDC Director and the head of the FDA, because they were exposed to an infected staff member. The staff member is Pence’s press secretary. Why isn’t pence being quarantined? Or Trump? The rules never apply to them. The same day we found out trump had been exposed via his valet, he was out meeting World War II veterans face to face without even wearing a mask.

Smallpox. Chickenpox. Measles. Whooping cough. Before vaccines these were diseases that swept through populations, then after nearly everyone had been exposed these diseases generally only affected children.

Heard the quickest vaccine ever produced took 3 to 4 years (NPR).....but new tech CAN make it there in 20 months. What is our manufacturing capacity for vaccines?
