Yes, absolutely, and it's not something you want to grow a whole tub of.

Is it growing straight up or climbing the wall?
The only myc I’ve had like that is oysters.

Wow this might be one of the rare times it actually is cobweb!
Just scrap that plate.

This doesn't look like cobweb to me at all. It might be mold, but not cobweb, it's impossible to say it isn't myc from that pic either.
What do you mean as aggressive growth Bsfixit? How long did it take to colonize? Because myc will practically always try to escape my plates if I leave it long enough.

You don't think so? It might not be, cobweb IME has been grey and not as thick.

You can also see filaments growing in the direction of growth. Cobweb is never so organized, it's just all over the place.

Might be some nuts stuck on walls since this is no pour (and it has 3 times more agar amount then needed) so myc had some path to climb, looks to organised to me for cobweb.

Myc climbs the walls in a lot of my small agar jars that I let go for a while. That really doesn't look like cobweb to me. I'm guessing it's cubensis myc.

This is T1 from MS I got on marketplace. Moby dick strain. Aggressive that it’s climbing the wall. It covered the plate In less than a couple of weeks. That pictured plate is 3 weeks old. Another older plate, original germination plate, is looking like it’s knotting. Might pop out a Shroom in vitro. If so that will settle it.

First glance it looks like it is growing like cobweb in the middle but if you look again, notice it is just Mycelium climbing the side of the no pour.

Can you take a pic with a clear lid? It does look like cobweb but I cant be sure without a clear look.

Good growth. The mix looks wet though. Might have an issue if bacteria take a hold from the syringe.

Good eye, it’s a pretty soft MEA for germination

that isn't cobweb mold, i have agar plates right now with mycelium climbing the walls, the mycelium is getting nutrients from the agar, what makes you think that the mycelium would just stop growing because it encountered another surface?

Is that what is happening in OP's photo? I think it's tricking us with an optical illusion - I thought it was growing straight up like cotton balls, not up the walls. The photo makes more sense now

Yeah first glance at the OP pic looks like a big fluff ball of cobweb but after a second you can see the uniform growth of cube myc and you can see how it’s growing up the side.

Update in what was going to be a master jar for G2G.. because of doubt I made a small tub mainly for prints or clones .. also here is a BRF jar that’s coming along really well.
