Hey y'all, so its now like my 3rd attempt at PF tek and for some reason I keep getting yellowy bacteria? The first time I didnt know that I shouldn't wipe my needle off to remove the char so my mistake, I am guessing that messed it up. Second time I am not sure what happened maybe my vermiculite+BRF was too wet. But this last time I steam sterilized for 95 minutes, made sure that my verm was at field capacity and everything and bacteria is still poppin up.I use a SAB and wear gloves idk I try to keep things clean as possible. I know bacteria is common I am just confused lol. Any idea of what could be happening?

Pictures would help, it could just be metabolites. Are you flame sterilizing the syringe between jars?

How much spore solution are you injecting into each jar? If you are using too much that can lead to problems

This last one I used around 3mL for each jar, is that too much?

It’s probably coming from the syringe.

If you are using half pint jars 1ml per jar is plenty

If every single jar is going bad every time you can probably blame the syringe.
I'd say try a different syringe, this happened to me my first two grows, I kept getting bacteria in every single jar, thought it was my Tek but when I tried a different syringe I had no contams with the same methods.

Yeah ime with wbs if the myc can still colonize then it’ll fruit. If the bacteria is so bad it stops the myc then it’s done though.
I’m not seeing anything in your jars.

Ya I think so too especially since their really isnt any growth at all, time to try again I suppose. Could that be do to temperature or something? Also thanks for the feedback

That does look a little too wet, make sure you're doing 2 parts verm 1 part water 1 part BRF. You might also want to try mixing the verm with the water first and then adding the BRF. Usually my cakes don't have so much wet BRF caked onto the walls of the jar.
