1). Om -  God Is Good

2.)  Om - Advaitic Songs

3.). Gabor Szabo - Dreams

4.)  Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes

5.)  Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon

6 / 7.). David Axelrod - Songs Of Innocence , and, Songs Of Experience

(Sadly, not all in 1 place on YT)

8.)  Grizzly Bear -  Yellow House

9.)  Dr. Dog - We All Belong

Alternate Timeline Version 9.0/10.)  The Grateful Dead - Live/Dead + Terrapin Station (;))

Whoops that’s 9ish .. and at that, just the ones I love utterly and absolutely in general, and listen from beginning to end without skipping while tripping and while sober!

There are many more... but you forced my hand...sadly...and happily... :hehehe:

I still remember the morning I got the Marshall Mathers LP. I skipped school and went to Best Buy the morning it was released. I was high as fuck and listened to a few songs on the drive home. Kill You & Stan. I got chills the first time I heard Stan.

Then I got home and listened to the entire album like 4 times in a row.

I hadn't really listened to the Slim Shady LP prior to this and wasn't sold on Eminem yet -- I thought he could be just a flash in the pan gimmick. Until I listened to the Marshall Mathers LP. After that I was a believer. God that was a special album. To me it's arguably the greatest rap album in the history of rap. And then of course Em went onto becoming a rap legend -- one of the most decorated and highest selling recording artists of any genre of all-time. So much for Marshall being a gimmick.

I do this with almost any album I listen to, with the exceptions being anything full of incredibly sub-par filler, like the Beatles' White Album. In fact, I hardly listen to individual songs, it's usually albums, and if not, then usually a playlist.

1) National - almost every album
2) Spoon - almost every album
3) Decemberists - Hazards of Love
4) Dr Dog - Fate (terrible live...)
5) Tool - Lateralus
6) Miles Davis - So What
7) Kali Uchis - Isolation
8) Janelle Monae - Archandroid/Dirty computer
9) Daft Punk - most albums
10) Phish - A live one

Only really like albums that are cohesive. Could list a dozen others too hard to narrow down.

Our musical tastes are uncannily similar.  I enjoy and have had the “phase” (and still essentially do) with everything on your list.

Thats fucking epic!!!!! Wow, what a story.

I still remember the first time I went to the movies to watch 8 mile!

I could barely speak English then, early 2000s. I was laughing at the jokes during the movie and my friend I had gone to watch the movie with said to me, "why you laughing? You dont understand what theyre saying," or something along those lines.

Great memories

Yeah man, I dont understand how this happened

What i can say is that ive been listening to soad since i was 13 together with linkin park, slipknot, korn, manson, limp bizkit, and other alternative/nu-metal from the 90s.

I discovered Winehouse in my early 20s when she had passed already and instantly fell in love with her music.

Have you listened to real metal? Or just neu-metal?

I'm not a huge metal fan anymore. But once neu-metal rolled around I was done with metal.

I had a huge Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden phase.

Dream-theater is very progressive but harder to get into if you aren't used to very long songs.

Tool is the only metal I still listen to, but their new album disappointed me was like 13 years in the making.

Metallica is pretty damn iconic, but someone will probably say that's thrash or whatever metal dudes get into with labels.

Metal is a very diverse genre, don't know much about it.
