Spore spreading with spray bottle??
    #26659445 - 05/09/20 08:08 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

I’ve been trying to research it but haven’t been able to come across anything valuable. I was wondering if putting spore prints into a spray bottle with water and spraying it around your hunting ground or even backyard do anything or is it a waste of time

Never tried that myself, but that'll work. You should do that several times. You'll have to wait a year to see results, though.

Youd want to use distilled water I believe.  But yes, it will take a year up to 2 years before youd see anything.

Your best bet would to make your own spawn and put the colonized spawn into your outdoor gardenbed.

Why does it take so long to see the results?

Because it’s like spreading a bunch of random people over an empty county and waiting for them to build an airport

Spores Are Ingested By Grazing Animals As They Eat Grass & Then Come Out In The Animals Dung, Ready To Germinate. Once They Germinate, The Mycelium Forms, Lives & Thrives For Awhile Before Sending Out Fruits.

Then More Spores Drop From The Gills Of The Mushrooms & Either Fall Directly Back On The Dung, Or They Spread To Grass In The Surrounding Area (By Wind & Animal Travel), Only To Be Eaten Again. It Is Very Important To Note That These Things Take Time, All That Doesn't Happen In Just A Few Months.

If You Spray Spores From A Bottle Directly Onto The Dung, You Are Only Taking Off One Step Of The Process, Which Is The Animals Eating The Spores. It Will Still Take Some Time To See Any Fruits.

Edit: Wait, You Talking Bout Cubes Or Woodlovers? For Some Reason I Thought You Were Referring To Wild Psilocybe Cubensis.
