First time cultivator, contamination or just bruising?
    #26659328 - 05/09/20 06:25 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hey everyone!

I’m a first time cultivator. Have two cakes in fc now that are pinning but starting to worry some of what I thought was bruising is the start of contamination. Hoping you all could help me a little with identifying.
I used all in one bags and b+ spores, then transferred to shotgun chamber once 100% colonized.  Started with a lot of aerial myc due to not enough fae, added some holes and added another daily fanning. I hope the pictures are good enough to give some insight.

Let me know what you guys think!

P.s.
Can’t say how appreciative I am of this community. It’s made starting out so much easier. I would have given up long ago without this as a reference.

I just replied to another thread, but I will say it here also. The other poster was having issues with water collecting underneath the cakes. You might want to try trimming your foil closer to the size of the cakes. If you have no issues with this first flush and water collecting underneath your cakes, then just trim what you easily can for now without disturbing the cakes, or leave them alone, and do it differently before laying cakes for your second flush.

What is the time frame between last misting/fanning and these pictures being taken?

I don't see anything suspect. I did see a small amount of yellowing in one picture, but is most likely just metabolites, discolouration etc... I don't see anything you should worry about. From the pics it looks like there are loads of hyphal knots and a good amount of primordia for what I assume are BRF cakes. Keep it going and you should have you first harvest within a week.

~15-20 minutes after fanning and misting
