Didn't take a pic today when I harvested but this is 2 days ago so it's closer to the final product. Took 2 different clones so hopefully the next tub is a bit better. Didn't weigh the wet weight but seems like it'll be good enough for 1qt. Again thank you to the wonderful people of shroomery for the swabs!

Yay! Success after working with this swab for like a year and a half lol
These things are insane! very impressive to watch them do their thing and get stupid big...seems like photos don't do them justice
Made a bunch of swabs and will probably do a give a way soon

Nice looking grows. I have a few jars going now and some more plates behind them. How slow are your jars colonizing typically? Mine seem slower than APE… really the slowest of anything I have grown so far.

Is Mak the largest cube var? I know it's slow and seems to have many aborts from what I've seen and is very low spore producer.. kinda tricky to grow..for the average person..

pretty sure I could harvest an entire enigma tub as a single fruit if I really put my mind to it. but yeah I've had monos come out as a couple clusters, pretty hefty fruits.

I've seen Shakti throw some massive fruits and that's an Albino Malabar. Most of the varieties out there that produce big fruits have Mak/PE genetics in the pedigree though.

My top layer has almost completely bruised blue. We had a solid cold snap for about two weeks and my sub continued to look dry. I would sometimes mist twice a day. I should note that I use a radiant heat space heater in my closet set up with an inkbird thermostat. Now I’m wondering if it’s bruised because of over misting.

I ran it like my other cubes and did quite well. I think it's the best choice for PE type for ease and yield. Just need that healthy spawn and good field hydration.
I'm thinking abiut going back to spores. My clones of clones are getting funny...

I just figured..it's a weird var period.,,funny from the start..I'm not sure but I see aborts..at like a 30% rate.. others just kinda are reverted and or produce very few fruits,,the other thing is almost no blue bruising.. very strange... fruits lay over in their sides too heavy to stand up..it's the retarded mutated hillbilly of the cube family.. I guess the original pe was cloned from a abort to start with..kinda makes ya wonder.. why does it get so big..grow so slow and have so many aborts.. some people get canopies but I've never seen them..

I wouldn't describe it as such. Maybe you should go back to spores. I'm frustrated my work went to shit last summer and my best move is to clean more and sometimes that means on a germ plate. I had canopies and now I have midgets...

are there any noticeable differences between Melmak and PE?

Melmac is PE. The main difference between it and swPE etc is that it doesn't blob much or at all without casing and pins much faster usually.

I would say they're a little more cubeish than SWPE, and while they blob less there is certainly blob potential. I've seen it do most everything now. Big solo fruits, full canopies, blobs, chodes.
