Started these on 9-12-21 using Bod's unmodified 66qt.

the biggest one is the size of a golf ball and based on my time frame its about harvest time.

super mutation or what? lol

LOL. what up man.
I should also clarify these are melmak genetics, if that wasn't already implied by me posting in this thread.
I was expecting tall, thick, bumpy stems. what gives? could these chodes be a result of contaminated spawn or just the 'ol genetic crapshoot?

and you're positive they're Melmac? they don't really look like Melmac pins to me but they're also still pins. they might turn out to be fatties. the surface of that sub does look unusually dense and matted tho. that being said, lots of people seem to have gotten melmac swabs that either werent melmak or was melmac that had reverted.
harvest time isnt until the fruits are ripe for the picking and those arent there yet. every strain will have its own time frame. u dont wanna just harvest because its been X amount of time

The sub could be bacterial. Same happened to me with a Tidal wave clone culture once. Other grows were normal. But you can also make a clone, just în case it is a mutation.

This was purchased many months ago as a melmak LC syringe. I could send some photos to the vendor and ask what they think.
I was also having trouble getting this particular strain to grow on grain without any contamination. I actually had to complain and ask the vendor if they would provide me a courtesy syringe because I couldn't get the first syringe that I paid for to work, not even in the slightest. What I was able to get growing this second time around was either the slowest growing myc I've played with thus far or the rest of that jar was growing a Lil somethin' somethin' else if ya know what I mean.
I took that myc and transfered it to agar. And from there kept making transfers until what I was growing appeared to be clean all the way around the dish and I just inoculated my jars with the agar.
I'm almost tempted to give the fruit a poke and see if it's gone soft. It appears as though the caps edges are starting to curl upwards.
Anyways, great advice. I appreciate you.

Yeah, don't send cultivation pics to vendors bro. The spores they sell are "for microscopy purposes only".

If the myc is contaminated (somehow) a clone could clean it up.

the Mac I grew originally was the slowest growing myc.. ever and it seems to contam at the drop of a hat.. I didn't know that it was mac at the time.. just thought I sucked at it.. buddy said that a agar dish will pin at about a month the original dish took three months to start to grow nots.. I put it to grain (slow as fuck) and to sub and it originally fruited and the fruits were huge..but very few..again I figures I just suck at cult.. later on I tried a different culture and it was night and day difference.. buddy said potency was low and doubted it was a PE strain but it looks like a cock..big time...

Update:

There was one other chonker and about ten more mushrooms of the same shape but much smaller than these two in the whole tub. First flush.

my melmac has always grew fast. the mycelium has anyway. it takes 20 or 21 days for mine to go from spawn to fruit. my bags of grain, i use LC on them. i just pour like 50-100ml into each bag and they are ready in about 2 weeks with one shake. so about 5 weeks from start to finish for me. maybe a little less. idk. the melmac i have experience with doesn't get sick easy. it always fights off what contams there are. i actually used old skethchy LC on my last run of 5 bags. all of them were not good. 2 i just threw away right away cause green was set before the mac. 2 of them pushed out 1 flush and is workn on a second. the last bag had about an inch of green at bottom of the bag but still fruited 4oz. so the melmac i know deals with contams and sickness well.
i shouldnt have use the LC. but i did. and still 3 bags flushed for me. lol
i wont do it again tho. fresh is best
ive been useing the TP melmac. i have 118 and iso3 (think its homestead). For me TP does the best and faster than the other 2. i quit running any other culture. only melmac

My tp is like that also.
Colonizes the tub pretty quick and then just sits and sits before pinning.
Worth the wait though.

Well fuck. Noticed some trich today on my first try at a melmac grow. I've literally never had a tub trich out before getting fruit before. What luck! I tried digging it out and patching the hole with coir, we shall see if I can at least get a fruit to clone. Goddamnit.

I feel like I'm slacking by fucking with other varieties . I think I'm gonna up my Melmac game. Got some good growth on agar again and I'm throwing plates into bags. Less vectors, less waiting
Might go back to spores too and see what comes up this time.

Quirk do you know the origin of your Melmak genetics?
I've been working with it lately looking for clones.
