AA sterilizers / Converted AA PC question

Hey so a few years ago I turned my AA 921 PC into a hybrid PC/Sterilizer by switching out the toggle weight vent for a stopcock and replacing the black rubber plug with a red high pressure plug. Works great, runs silent, pulls a vacuum, never runs out of water and I can run up to 28PSI if I want.
My gauge is broken. I was looking at replacements and both the AA PC gauge and AA Sterilizers gauges are the same price. They both have the same numbers on the dials :
https://fungi.com/products/replacement-pressure-gauge-for-sterilizers
https://fungi.com/products/replacement-pressure-gauge-for-pressure-cookers
Is there a difference between these two gauges? Since I converted mine, I feel like it would make more sense to switch it with the Sterilizer gauge yeah?
The only differences between my hybrid and a Sterilizer, is mine doesn't have a capillary tube that hangs down from the stopcock inside (when you put the stopcock in a PC, you can't tighten it all the way... So there is no thread on the underside to screw the capillary tube onto).
What does that tube do anyways? It looks like it just goes down below the basket that you can set inside the Sterilizers. Oh and the sterilizers have an excess relief valve the too. That's one more diff Thanks!

Air is heavier than steam so the tube helps get air out during venting especially if you use the basket insert. Without the basket it just restricts flow and slows the air evacuation

Ahhh for venting! That makes sense now!
I can't attach one because the threading on the bottom of the stop cock doesn't reach down far enough when screwed into a PC.
I don't own a basket, honestly I can't think of anything I couldn't do without it, but I imagine you could just vent the PC for a longer time yeah?

A pressure gauge is a pressure gauge. As long as it goes as high as you need and fits the hole.

Yes I converted mine years ago. My gauge is off and I want to replace it , trying to see if I can or should use the sterilizer gauge

Should be the same as long as the thread size is the same. Both measure pressure.

Right. That's what I figured. I just wasn't sure if like the sterilizer one was built stronger or something
Thanks!

I think the difference is where the green and red ink is on the dial.

I think someone in the modded AA thread put a 30hg/30psi gauge on a 941 and it pulled 15hg vacuum. The vacuum can damage the calibration of the stock gauges. Might be worth looking for something upgraded.

See that is what I've been wondering. The stock gauge on my AA/921 that I put the stopcock on is off - it starts at 5psi - it's not too big a deal because it otherwise works but I've been considering replacing it.
https://fungi.com/products/replacement-pressure-gauge-for-sterilizers
This is the gauge for AA sterilizers. Except for the red/green it looks identical but if this one is built specifically to handle the vacuum then it would make more sense to use this gauge if it fits
Maybe I'll just grab both, if the sterilizer gauge doesn't fit I'll send it back and keep the PC one

If you contact a gauge manufacturer or supplier they should be able to help. It's worth stating that it will be used for steam under pressure. 1.5% fsd is less than 1psi max error. 1/8th npt bottom mounted ideally. This is a quality brand but you'll need a 1/4" npt female to 1/8" npt male adapter.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Wika-9744843-Pressure-Gauge-30-Hg-to-30PSI-2-5-Dial-1-4-NPT-LM/273885339054?hash=item3fc4d69dae:g:tNQAAOSwGllc~~nz
Some of the older stock gauges had a dial stop below zero so it could effectively gauge a small vacuum. Looks like the new ones have a dial stop at zero? But looking at the other thread that guy pulled 15hg. Which is odd because most of the broken gauges are reported to be out by 3-5psi. I'm guessing a gauge with a dedicated mechanism is more accurate than a faulty gauges error.

Yeah the gauge I have on right now will pull below 0 when I have a vacuum- the stop bar is a little lower
It's really nice being able to pull a vacuum, I break it in front of the flow hood
