Tomentose myc isolation ?? Need help
    #26656599 - 05/08/20 04:33 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hi I have managed to get some p. semilanceata clone tissue to produce tomentose mycelium but it's very fluffy and I am wondering how I can isolate these fluffy strands and use them to inoculate another dish of Agar. I was thinking maybe just use tweezers to collect it like cotton candy and swipe into a fresh dish??

Will post pics later.

People use scalpels to do agar work

Me too, but I can barely see where the myc is coming from on the agar it's all up in the air and fluffy. How do I separate this kind of myc?

So I've cut around the healthy looking mic surrounding the small black speck in the top right and transferred it to a new dish.

Seriously though, your agar shouldn't look like bacon grease that you scraped from the pan. What recipe did you use?

Fuk I thought my bacon grease agar tek was legit.

I used Dextrose, Pounded Yam and Agar with green food colouring for that one.

I just transferred a bit of stem to a more simple honey and agar dish.

Don't worry mate, what you're gonna feel is a slight burning in your heart, your lungs, your brain, your kidneys, your liver, bottom of your feet, your eyeballs, then you start bleeding from your nose and ears, then you start tripping out and seeing everything in the form of an anime cartoon which is really fucking cool.
