I see. Well, most NZ species are wood lovers preferring certain types of trees, could've helped if there was only one species of trees around. So, what do you think?

In my later post I have shown some before picking. And see the original post for spore print description and pics.

So are they p.tasmaniana? That looks pretty close to number 1? Do they grow in New Zealand?

I'm pretty sure they're all tasmaniana. If you could provide some good photos of them side by side and in good condition, we could get a better look at them. These are the NZ psilocybes:
Psilocybe aucklandii Psilocybe makarorae Psilocybe semilanceata Psilocybe tasmaniana Psilocybe subaeruginosa Psilocybe weraroa Psilocybe cyanescens Psilocybe angulospora Psilocybe alutacea

Got some better photos of one that looks like a number1. I am starting to wonder if number 1 and 2 actually are both the same species as has been previously suggested?
I am quite confused about this. They do look like P.Makarorae but the substrate seems wrong for it to be this species.
I think by now there is surely enough photos and information for someone experienced to I.D these mushrooms.

I agree. It was the substrate that got me thinking tasmaniana. Substrate doesn't really fit for any of those, but all the others on that list are ruled out.

So I decided to take the shrooms yesterday with a couple of friends. It was my first time and it was magical! We had about 1.5 grams each.
