What is the best way to prepare coir for shoeboxes?
    #26655186 - 05/07/20 01:15 PM (4 years, 8 months ago)

I've been reading a lot and it seems 50% say bucket tek and other 50% say pressure cooking is fine. Which route should I go?  Thank you in advance.

Doesn’t matter much, any way that gets water in the coir lol.

I usually boil a pot of water and dump it in a bucket with the coir then throw a shirt over the top and shake it up after half an hour.

People even use cold water with no problems. It may help the myc go faster to use boiling water so it kind of cooks and softens the coir up but I’ve never done a test.
