Greenish yellow patch

So, I've been noticing this coming up in my tub. I'm thinking it may be bacterial contamination? It's hard to see in the picture but it's a yellow/greenish discoloration. I've been having some issues with the moisture level. The coir layer on top sometimes appears to be light brown which I take to mean it's too dry. So I mist it but by the time it looks saturated again, there's way too much standing water. I'm thinking I should just try to keep a fine mist laying on top and not worry about the color of the coir at this point so as to not continue breeding contamination. I sprayed it down with some H2O2 but it didn't seem to have any effect.

It looks like it could be from just some bacterial contamination or just yellowing from it drying out a little there but you don't need to treat it with anything it's not bad and won't affect much. Your getting all sorts of knotts there so you'll have pins in just a short while. Just let it be and wait I think you'll be happy.

You can ditch the peroxide for this hobby. If you get Trich, toss it outside. The only thing peroxide can help with is *I think* actual cobweb mold, which is super rare.

Initially, I was using H2O2 on my agar dishes, but I'm happy to say I will soon be the owner of a laminar flow hood, so I imagine I won't be using it much after it arrives on Monday :-)

Shouldn't be using it on your agar plates either.
Congrats on the flow good man, which one did you get?
Flow hoods have a learning curve too though. They are convenient but if you can't grow with an SAB they aren't going to make you any better. Remember too, with an SAB you never move anything unsterile over top open sterile media, but with a flow good never move anything between the filter and open media or it will blow contams into your work
