[INDOOR] Cold shock - Azure
    #26653863 - 05/06/20 08:52 PM (3 years, 9 months ago)

Hello,

Firstly, I don't care about your criticism, yes i'm attempting to grow azures indoors, yes i know they are better for outdoor growing, no i am not just growing azures because of potency.

I'm running an experiment based on two things,
Simplicity & Knowledge. i'm sure anyone who knows about azures know that they are regarded as hard to grow and a hassle, I'm trying to make a simple process for indoor cultivation for azures.

With that said, I have started with the PF TEK just normally, Mycelium should form, I will eventually be moving to a large bulk woodchip substrate because they can't fruit off the cake, I will be using alder chips for anyone curious.

Azures usually grow in winter/autumn and apparently in order to get pin growth i will have to cold shock them (as soon as they are in new substrate)

How does this process work? I've read that they make the enviorment 40 degress fahrenheit, What does this process look like? Is anyone here intrested i updates?

(ps i have 8 jars inoculated from 2 syringes because I am experimenting)

Any information is helpful, finding information of azures online has been the most difficult part. I also have not found proof of an indoor azure grow (saw some dude on here who thought he did a indoor azure grow but it was just cubes )

Help me make this achievable! Looking forward to the response!

in my head I am engineering a $79 mini-fridge + the big ass igloo cooler to make a cold tank. where I live it doesn get cold enough to grow namekos/kings/other cold snap fruits.

Post up how are you going to keep them cool enough!

They have been grown indoors but not with a lot of success. This should help give you some ideas: https://www.shroomery.org/8702/Psilocybe-azurescens-indoor-cultivation.

bobwastaken mini fridge FC is the best setup I have seen for testing indoor cold-loving species. It would be a good idea to look over his build to see what info you can glean for your own setups.

I believe jakeoncide419 is building one as well and he has a history of consistent GH results. I don't have any direct links to his build so you are gonna have to wade through some posts.

FWIW I've fruited Ps. cyanescens (similar) indoors (well in a garage ) in an old fridge rigged with a light on a timer and set to high 40s or low 50s, if memory serves.  Worked fine.  Also had a runaway heat incident in the setup and it mutated the fruiting characteristics of the surviving myc to higher temps, which made it a lot easier to grow mass qtys all year round. But it was a long time ago and currently don't have that strain growing.
