In my state it is illegal to "shoot to wound".
You shoot to kill or don't shoot at all.

The opposite.
Why are you popping off rounds if you're not in fear for your life?
If you have time to think "imma just wound this guy" I really dont think you feared for your life.
IMO many more people would be shot if you could just wound someone.

So if you shoot someone with the intent to kill and he survives ( say he broke in your house) he can then sue you?

Nah. I've never even held a gun.
I don't think I'm legally able to get a gun in my state because I'm a medical marijuana patient and it's still federally illegal..which is laaaaaaaaame. I hate that as someone who is going through extra hoops to be a law abiding citizen(..well..for the most part ) I'm rewarded with more of my freedoms being taken away. I'm left as hell, pro-sensible-gun control at the federal level, but this is a perfect example of stupid legislation that doesn't actually work in any way lol.
I also don't really have any real interest in guns. If I did end up buying one it would strictly be for home protection, and I would have my ass in some classes because I don't know shit(I do know that you shoot to kill though and that you don't point it at anything you're not okay with killing, though...and that it's bad form to keep your finger on the trigger until you're actually pulling it).

Yup.
But Castle Doctrine will protect you in some states I think. I know it specifically allows you to shoot someone dead with no legal repercussion, I imagine it'd free you from liability as well.

If someone breaks into my house (at night where I cant see) bet your ass I'm unloading my clip. If I was broken into during the day where I CAN see then I will act accordingly. (If they have a gun I'll tell them to drop it if not shoot. If they dont have a gun then fisticuffs it is)

In my concealed carry class the instructor told us if you pull out your gun you better kill the person. If you don't there's a good chance you're going to get in a lot if trouble. It's just the way the government has everything set up. The system doesn't care about human life. Their main goal is to make as much money as possible.

Believe me I don't want to kill another human being. I feel bad everytime I kill a deer so I can only imagine how I would feel if I killed a human. I would do it though to avoid prison.

If someone breaks into my house, I’m starting at a tactical deficit. If I’m able to regain any element of surprise, I’m not giving that up. Castle doctrine removes the burden to prove an intruder posed a deadly threat when they unlawfully entered your home. It is presumed. They will see an 800 lumen strobe and hear ringing regardless of the current state of their hands.
