Here is what I will have to work with:
spores vermiculite whole brown rice pressure cooker gypsum soil (mix happy frog, black gold seedling mix, castings, & hydrated lime) monotub (2' x 3' x 2' tall) spray bottles quart mason jars aluminum foil duct tape
Did I miss anything? What's my best tek for not spending more money and for getting the most out of my first run? I'd consider bee pollen since I like having some on hand anyway! I am very interested in using the brown rice whole since I intend to work with grains in the future. Should I put some verm in the brown rice to keep it from caking together badly?

you dont need the
gypsum soil (mix happy frog, black gold seedling mix, castings, & hydrated lime) and duct tape.
You should follow a tek.
Start with a tek and follow it to the T

Go for PF tek with your resources. When you want to switch to grain, get some cereal grain.

Well I am done buying. I have maybe $25 left to spend right now so, since there is not a tek with this arrangement of materials, I actually cannot follow a tek down to the last detail.
Anybody? Have at me with the biology and chemistry if you must. I'll wait.
Can't exactly do BRF Tek with four quart mason jars.

How about a revised version of Shroom Wizard Tek here?

Since I am at the end of my budget, and cannot get those kind of mason jars mailed for under $15 it seems, I am stuck with quart jars. I have enough money for wild bird seed and can get it locally. While I can grind down my brown rice, I am stuck with these particular jars.

If you are going to go the grains route, you would want to start off with agar first, which means more supplies.
Why can't you get half pint jars for under 15$?? If you go to the grocery store or Walmart they are like 8-9$ for 12
Do you live in the U.S?

$10 pack of jelly jars (4oz-125ml). Are the spores in a syringe? Can you flour the whole brown rice with a coffee grinder or blender?

Ah. Well you can use the taller half pints if they have those, they will work fine. I've never seen the wide mouth half pints in stores.
Literally every grocery store or Walmart I've been in has had the tall half pint jars for under 10$

Ship to store and pick up in store. Shouldn't have a delivery charge.

The syringe is for PF Tek. Just asking if you have a syringe or print.

Spore prints are taken from mushrooms that were grown in open air, therefore the prints are not completely sterile, and since syringes are made from prints, they are never 100% clean. BRF cakes are much more forgiving in that aspect, syringes are usually clean enough for that but if you are working with grains you should start with a clean culture on agar first.
People used to inoculate grains with spore syringes, and you *can* do it, but you risk losing your whole grow.
Honestly man, instead of finding some sub par Tek to suit what you have, maybe just wait till you have another $10 and can buy what you need

Alright. Probably going to inoculate BRF and see then about spawning the busted up resulting cake. That DOES keep me from having to look at this one used pressure cooker. Saves me forty bucks so I can order jars!!
After my first, I hope to switch to grain bags. Maybe oats or millet.
Thanks again!
