Liberty Caps in Minnesota?

I was doing yardwork in my backyard today when i happened upon a small cluster of mushrooms. I picked one, studied it, and looked on the internet for a match. They seem to resemble liberty caps, but i do not know if that is possible since i live in MN. The shrooms also did not have that little bump on the top of the caps like liberty caps do. Although they look just like them without the little bump and a very dark underside/gills. Could this be possible? thankyou

Probably not, but take a spore print just in case. Libs don't grow in clusters...

hi -- the following is just a comment -- no attempt to tell you what you found. after all its only a general descript.
im in a similar geo location. i see those liberty cap looking type shrooms commonly on lawns. someone recently brought samples of different mush on their property, and one specimen bag contained 15 or so of what i think you are describing.
i think theyre called inky caps, as they all turned completely into black water overnight. it was fun squeezing the bag of goo, crushing what was left of the small pieces into the ink.

yes... coprinus (inky caps)... alot of them look look liberty caps, but if they dont slightly bruise and have that clear poop looking thing on the top of the cap, i wouldnt think they are libs...

Not to cause laughter here but what the hell is a "clear poop looking thin on top?"
