No most methods don't leave out things you need. Superfluous items like you mentioned are just that. Extras you don't need unless you want them. You'll naturally just get the things you want

Silicon is an element commonly found in sand and semiconductors
Silicone is a rubber that you are talking about

To be fair the best thing I recently read about of that nature is from the 'perfect agar transfer tek' by D3monic a small metal tube to cut a perfect circle from the agar to then place upon a new plate, looks perfect.

The tool I find most people havent seen is a step bit for a drill. You can drill holes from 1/4 inch to 2 inches with one bit and its for plastic. The thing comes in handy making lids, making tub, drilling buckets and whatnot. I also really like my COSORI Food dehydrator.

Yea step bit is good.

I agree with bod. You fall into a routine and know what you need and instinctively maintain those things.

The thing i love doing is going to goodwill and finding random things like storage container, food[mush]storage containers and mesh screen and all kinds of useful shit.

Since this pandemic goodwill has been closed. Itching to pop some aderall and go thrifting lol

I already had step bits before this. I suspect a lot of people do and a lot of people don't. So if you need a tool to make holes in your lid its not a part of the tek usually. Some people are that generous. But it's like CDL school day one saying you need go wear clothes to drive a truck for a company. It's prerequisite

The post wasn't intended for me, it was more to get ideas together for other people. These are indeed items that I've found on my way, was just curious if there was others I'd missed or not gotten to yet.

Like Bodhisattva said you just kinda get stuff as you discover you need it.

Here's one tho :

If you like working with liquid inoculant and/or LC an Eberbach unit is pretty killer.
They're expensive AF if you get them new (or even used from someone who knows what  they have), but people often don't know what they are and sell them dirt cheap on eBay.

Any Waring blender base will work but I got this killer lab blender with a seconds timer and this 250ml stainless steel Eberbach for like $30. I had to buy a lid for it. Other parts like blades and gaskets are super cheap.
This same 250ml Eberbach (without blender) goes for $500 on Fungi Perfecti.

The glass 500ml Eberbach, I got for $15 , I just had to pay $5 for some new lids.
These sell for nearly $300 new.

They can be fully sterilized with water in them. Then you can drop in a wedge from agar plate and blend to make Liquid Inoculant.
It's also useful for inoculating LC, I pour some into my LC broth and set it on a magnetic stir plate, my LC is typically ready in 3 days or so.

I've made these myself before using replacement blade units for an Oster blender, they fit Mason jars.
But if you keep checking eBay you will find one of these for dirt cheap.
