I didn't know that word was actually offensive. English is not my native language, i thought it was just a funny way to say Chinese.

The title of the thread literally refers to it as "Wuhan Coronavirus", that's not the issue.
When you use a racist slur instead of something geographically meaningful, you're trying to do something far different than be factually accurate.
Edit: if you really didn't mean it that way it's a different story.

Point taken. One of my best friends is half Chinese and so I'm privy to the fact that it's pretty much the equivalent of calling a black person a ni**er.

It is. It's virtually the Asian equivalent of the N word.
And it's not just aimed at those of Chinese descent, either. Some people will call anybody who's Asian a chink.

if you are judged to not look like your ID, they can refuse the sale as a false ID as a transwoman, this gets me fucked around a lot more than other people whose appearance may not change as much between picture updates

Climate change failed to bring about a single world government so the shadowy elites planted an engineered virus. And China is a shining beacon of defeating the outbreak with totalitarianism (seemingly).

Too bad, facial rec and tracking has been a norm for years now. Mostly as private data. It’s sketch, and I know both sides of the argument for and against, but it’s what the future entails whether we like it or not. Best learn to adapt to it and elect conscientious non corrupt officials to help oversee legislature on it so that monstrous abuses don’t happen so much.

I literally was told the same thing by my cashier today while grocery shopping earlier today. Haha, I just said - I suppose I can see why that might be a tempting view to some..
It would be a sweet plot though , like a hunger games but with countries type deal lmao

It’s the current level of infection in the US that is the threat to the rest of the world. Honestly, the rest of the world is likely to ban Americans for quite a long time

Maybe it'll be renamed to the Donald Trump Coronavirus when our deaths exceed 100k by next month and every other country in the world somehow has less than half

Not saying that US has done particularly good job, but you have to remember that it's population is 330m. Spain, Italy, UK and France are doing way worse.

Nah, we'll just name the recession that follows after him. The Trump Global Recession.

No they aren’t. Their infection rates have been falling for weeks. The US is not seeing any significant decrease in infections. We just passed Italy in cases per capita. Our deaths per capita is fast approaching the worst hit European countries. What do we get for this half assed response? 25% unemployment and 2000 dead every day for the rest of the summer. It’s a complete failure.

Just a stupid joke. To be fair we also had far more time to prepare, far more resources, far more hospitals, medical professionals, some of the best universities and research facilities in the world, etc. The federal government dropped the ball every step of the way, and continue to do so. We still have not made the very basic and necessary changes that other countries made months ago, like widespread free testing and contact tracing. Now things will open too quickly, and without those two things everything we tanked our economy to prevent will occur, prolonging the reopening process even more.
When the places who had already experienced it were saying: "Shut things down now", our federal government was saying: "I don't know, it can't get that bad, can it? Let's pretend stopping travel from only China will help and then lets wait awhile for it to go away."

Trump closed flights from China early tho. Despite WHO suggesting countries to not ban travel. Also how is 25% unemployment Trump's fault?

I will never, ever, ever understand how any rational human can honestly defend anything about Trump.
He - literally - has his face painted like a clown, and he perfoms like a circus actor too.
A more crooked human I did na'er see.
