3+ weeks in spawn bags & no signs of activity???
    #26650016 - 05/05/20 07:59 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

I have some spawn bags with B+ that were inoculated over three weeks ago that are showing absolutely no signs of activity.  Are these a lost cause? Or do i need to kick my patience up to high gear?  I'm pretty new to spawning in bags.  thanks.

I haven't any experience with bags, something could happen, but I'd imagine youd have noticed something by now. In any case, whatever you decide to do next, throw some agar work in on the side it will make your life so much easier, truly.

I used a bag a few times few years back. inoculated with syringe. I must say it did take a long time, I think because there was more volume than what I had in my grain jars. I think it grows from the inside to outside. Its probably working inside first. I would give another week, if not, shake it up and see if anything was growing within, nothing to lose at this point. Do you have a gas exchange patch?

You could have a bag of bacteria by now. Do a smell test..

I suggest learning agar.. Syringe to grain Is not recommended.

I also suggest try working with spore prints instead of syringes..

Nothing wrong with starting from a syringe to agar and then once you get yourself some fruits working from clones and or prints you make. Syringe will likely last longer to in storage as well as using next to none of it to start up.
