ID request - Melbourne AUS
    #26649795 - 05/05/20 05:36 AM (3 years, 8 months ago)

Hi guys, would appreciate an ID request.

Found these in my backyard this arvo. There were about 15 of these all growing solo, 10 of which started to dry/die out so none of the expected caramel coloured tops seen in P subs, however, black/blue cruising is evident – these are the ones I picked. The other 5 amongst them growing are fresher looking pins with typical P sub colouring/characteristics (5th photo).

* Habitat: backyard garden bed. Growing from tanbark under a shrub/small tree (unsure of variety)

* Location: Suburban Melbourne

*Cap: See photos. Convex. Very light tan/beige, 2cm diameter.

* Gills: see photos. Very light tan/beige.

* Stem: woody and hollow

* Spore print colour: TBC – doesn’t look as though I’ll get a spore print – looks too dry. It’s been 5 hrs now and not the slightest of print showing.

* Scent of the mushroom: none

* Colour that the mushroom bruises when damaged: black/blueish

*Other info: a shit load of tiny little bugs are dropping out of the gills (wtf!?) - not sure if it’s because of the habitat they’re growing from or if it’s because they are no longer fresh, or is it because of the bugs they are dying as it appears the bugs are eating the shrooms - bruised where they’ve eaten away. Also the garden bed is quite dry from well draining soil and have not had rain for 3-4 days. Are the bugs normal (photo 6-7)?
